Located in a medieval monastery, this small hotel is very clean and comfortable, and has an excellent restaurant. My room looked out on an orchard - rooms on the courtyard are not as pleasant. Could not recommend it more highly. Perfect peace and quiet with a blissful morning walking round the Abbey virtually alone until 10.30 and then subathing in the private garden. pros: inside the Fontevraud Abbaye Cons: clean but basic rooms,wifi in lounge only. Restaurant pretentious mediocre food for dinner(as Michelin puts it :cuisine au gout du jour) Service very slow. curiously buffet breakfast was good although service was non existent
