Beware - not an easy place to reach, even with a map! Having driven around Cordes several times we eventually gambled and took a steep narrow cobbled street just off the square and headed up - and up. We had previously been advised to stop outside the hotel to drop off our bags. The reception staff were very helpful. Gave... More

Stayed two nights in Cordes. The hotel is directly in the center of the old town and a bit tricky to get to if you are driving though we made all the proper turns and made it to the hotel with little problem. Front staff very helpful. Our room was a triple-chambre #7 which was sufficient size for 2 suitcases... More

We drove with some trepidation up through the narrow cobbled streets of the old town. We parked on the far side and walked the last part on foot. Isabella who works on the desk was very friendly and welcoming and gave us a map so we could park our car nearer the hotel in designated parking. Lugging the cases up... More

1 I left my car in the public car park recommended by the hotel who gave me tokens to use it. In the morning my car had been broken into. I then discovered this is a know problem. The receptionis refused to come and look at the car. 2 The hotel wrote to me to say there were other restaurants... More

We booked a junior suite, which was furnished with good taste and had a high quality bathroom. Only drawback, it was over the patio : no view, quite noisy in the morning. The service is cool and correct. Good restaueant, slightly expensive More

The hotel is in the old centre of Cordes sur Ciel a 13th century fortified town. As mentioned below you need a valley view to really appreciate this hotel. The rooms have recently been renovated, are comfortable and the valley rooms have a spectacular view. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Parking is... More

I stayed there for two nights with my family (including a baby) and everything was perfect. We had a room which was in pristine condition - as someone once said, a good hotel room should give you the feeling that you are the very first person to stay there. We had a huge bathroom which seemed to have been completed... More

Cordes-sur-Ciel is an exquisite old village perched on a hill, perfect for a romantic getaway. This hotel is near the very top of the old walled town. (You drive to the hotel up a steep narrow cobblestone street to drop your luggage, then park further down the hill.) We didn't book far enough in advance to get one of their... More

We stayed in the Hostellerie for two nights in October 2006, just about out-of-season, but really enjoyed the solitude (for that time of year) in Cordes-sur-Ciel. The hotel itself is very well located, and is steeped in character. The views of the valley are fantastic, and it is worth requesting a valley view, and cherry-picking your room from their website...
