Our family of four stayed here for two nights and loved it. Our family room consisted of a queen size bed, with two single beds on a mezzanine level. Whilst the room was a bit dated it had loads of character. There was no lift to our accommodation which was up a few flights of steps towards the back of... More

We ended up here by chance after our well-in-advance booking at the Hostellerie Provencale in Uzes did not translate into a room on the day !! Fortunately we had a very pleasant stay in one of the smaller back rooms, facilities good if a little in need of TLC, character room and surroundings, excellent meals in the hotel dining room,... Having read TripAdvisor reviews on this hotel we approached our stay for a family wedding with great trepidation ! The hotel stands on the south side of the small but charming old village of Arpaillargues and consists of the main building which has large bedrooms and an attached renovated block of smaller rooms. Parking is in the broad, quiet village... More

The obvious plusses are: the chateau's appearance, the imposing hall & stairs, the large swimming pool and the courtyard garden to the front of the hotel. The minusses are: the bedrooms - which are dated, dusty & tatty (even the "superior" ones), the food which is not commensurate with the prices, the (at-times) amateurish service and the breakfast - which... The rooms are overpriced, dark, shabby and faded but it is from a culinary viewpoint that this establishment seriously insults both the intelligence and the purses of those dining here. Do not be deceived by the fancy sounding and mellifluous, Moliere-like menu which contains French words that even the French staff were at a loss to explain the meaning of.... More

This year we spent a night in Chateau d'Arpaillargues, UZES, France for our wedding anniversary. We plan this type of week-end every year in a different castle. We tought this year again, we have found the appropriate place, romantic, fine and calm. At our arrival we can park directly in the private closed at night parking of the hotel near... More

Excellent accommodations and restaurant in a beautiful old chateau that once belonged to Marie d'Agoult, the mistress of Franz Liszt. Attentive staff, large, comfortable room, excellent pool. More

My fiance and I stayed at the gorgeous Chateau d'Arpaillargues in April 2004. We attended our friends' wedding in neighboring Uzes, France, and rather than staying where most of the wedding guests were staying, I decided to be adventurous and find our own place to stay. This hotel is so full of French romance and history, and the staff is... More
