Just come home from mid week break. Have to say this is a lovely hotel and in a great area of Paris, central to both Bastille and Republique zones with easy metro link to centre. Met all our expectations and more...despite some reviews saying staff not friendly enough or rooms to small, this is far from the reality for our... More

On the whole this hotel is lovely; clean, classy and relaxing. We got this in a eurostar + hotel internet deal so it was great value for money - I'm not sure I'd pay their normal rates for the deluxe double room we had but only because if I was going to spend over 300 euros a night I'd want... ...but what small hotel in Paris doesn't have quirks? Paris is a city full of quirks, most delightful and intriguing, some not. If you like Paris and have visited at least several times, I'm guess that you'll like the Gabriel -- as I have, and as I did. If you don't like Paris -- well, you probably won't be reading... More

Hi, this was our first time in Paris and when we booked this hotel it had amazing reviews. Now it seems that many people are leaving reviews about the same things. 1-overbooking 2- mildew smell 3-small room. Ok so, there is a nasty smell in the lobby and it is mildew although they will tell you it's a special relaxing smell.We... More

We arrived for our fifteen anniversary only to find that someone else was in our room (despite confirmation of reservation). We were spun a yarn about someone being sick and the hotel was obliged to give them another night. Judgung by other reviews this seems to be a very common excuse to cover regular and aggressive overbooking. In any event... More

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in in France. Contrary to having an anti-stress effect, it stressed me out royally. Here are some of the reasons: 1. Mildew - the entire hotel smells of a combination of mildew and bizarre spa treatments. The bathroom reeked of it. 2. Soft, sagging mattress - mattress was old and didn't fit into the bed... More

Where to start? Staff were miserable and rather unhelpful, it felt as if they were doing you a favour even talking to you. The only member of staff who made us feel welcome was the smiling cleaner. Room too small (as covered by other reviewers). Huge bath with curtains around it in the middle of the room so you were... More

I arrived to leave my bags in the morning not expecting a room would be ready but was told that a guest was sick and could not leave & that I would have to stay else over the road in another hotel. When challenged they found me a room...Why lie they were simply over booked. The rooms at this hotel... More

My review is long overdue, as I have stayed here several times. I must say that this is also appreciated by the hotel, and they do make sure I feel welcome. Being greeted by name and assuring that everything is in order makes a huge difference when compared to larger establishments. Location is also good, with easy access to the... More

We had a room on the top floor which was totally silent, and freshly decorated. The location was great - near Oberkampf and Marais, and there was a fantastic bakery and creperie (Chez Imogene) just a few steps away. The free wifi signal was really strong in our room. However the bed was so extremely soft that I found it... More
