It's a very good hotel if you're on budget travelling. The staff there are super welcoming and speak English well. Certainly not very spacious according to the North American standard. I suspect it must have been renovated since the previous comments on here because it was definitely not smelly or otherwise unsavoury in any way. Fair little 2 star hotel. Rooms are basic but clean. Bathrooms have seen better days but everything works. Close to Metro and Republic Square, good shops and resturants nearby. A good base for an economic stay in Paris. more

I booked The Croix du Malte well aware that it was only a 2 stars superior. I did not expect marble baths and freshly cut flowers but I did expect cleanliness.
