I decided to treat my girlfriend to a trip to paris for xmas, we had done plenty of planning, and feel we had the "full paris experience".... The hotel is petit and on the outskirts, but everything is within a 20 min metro journey, and the nearest metro was a 30 second walk from the front door of the hotel....... More

Why is the hotel armstrong even on your recommendation list? I have just returned from Paris. I was thinking i'd have a cheap last minute weekend away...but it turned out to be a disaster that cost me far much more than expected. For a 2* hotel I wasn't expecting much, but our room was shocking!! Not only was there no... More

The worst part of our stay at Hotel Armstrong was that the bathroom smelled like a sewer the whole time we were there. I wasn't sure if it was due to a plumbing problem or lack of cleanliness, but it made us feel incredibly uneasy about our stay right from the beginning. In addition, only two very small bath towels... More

The amount of mixed reviews on here is crazy. The hotel itself is fairly nice, well decorated, clean, and the staff seemed friendly enough. The room was fairly small, but clean, and comfortable enough, although the thin walls were extremely annoying when you have to listen to other people talking or showering during the night. The surrounding area however, pretty... More

I stayed at this hotel for a work trip for 3 nights last week. I was with five colleagues (all female). Some of the group had read the reviews here on tripadvisor before we travelled ( the hotel was booked by another party on our behalf) and by the time we arrived we expected the worse. However, I have to... More

Several of the reviews draw attention to the poor location but throw in a lifeline that the metro is near. Some even say it has good eating places around! To be clear the location is appalling, it really is a run down area, and we never saw anything that remotely made us consider eating out here! Its cheap and its... More

This trip was in February 2009. We stayed here (in the ghetto) for a reasonable price and for that reason only. The room was barely big enough for 1 much less 2. The shower was the size of a bucket and very compact. With our luggage in tow, jumping over the bed was necessary to move about the cabin. The... More

Hotels in Paris are expensive, so we knew not to expect much for this price. The hotel itself was not bad - small rooms, yes; we could barely fit our luggage in but that's kind of expected. The beds are decent, the shower a bit small but usable; FREE WIFI and (a surprise for us) multiple electric outlets with two... More

Tried to make reservation on another hotel that a friend has adviced me to stay, but had no vacancy at that time and I was luck enought to find Amstrong Paris Hotel and recommend it to people that want to save money and will spend most of their time in Paris exploring the city and are not looking for a... This hotel is in an appaling area of town which I would refer to as a ghetto. The area is filthy, unsafe and full of homeless, lebanese and indians all trying to sell junk to you or ask you for money. The metro station is unsafe and the restaurants, supermarket and shops all look filthy and unhygenic both inside and... More
