This is a large campsite about 15 minutes from Paris city centre. If your idea of camping is large open spaces with only the sound of birdsong to disturb you - this is not for you as it is a city site. Having said that, if you want an alternative to hotel accommodation for a visit to Paris then it is certainly worth considering.
Four of us stayed for 5 nights in August in a mobile home (type O'Hara). The site is clean, well maintained and well managed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We did have to queue for a while to check in but we did arrive at about the busiest time of day on the busiest weekend of the year!
The site is very busy, with lots of people coming and going all the time. It is situated on a narrow strip of land between a busy road and the river but does quiten down at about midnight. There is a small supermarket which bakes its own baguettes and croissants as well as a pizza & chicken take-away. The restaurant is open for breakfast and evening... more
