the Hotel has small rooms and no elevator; however, rooms were very clean, bathrooms small but in good order, towels available, good shower; location is very good, and the attitude of reception employees was friendly and collaborative. We stayed four nights, and did not regret for a moment the choice of the place. We had one room at the 2nd... More

The Grand Hotel Voltaire is a Family Run One star hotel with a good location. OK. Location to Metro Voltaire 2 min on foot and 10 min walk to Bastille area. Great eateries near the metro from fast food to deli. The hotel has Six floors and no lift service so not good for the disabled or unfit people however... More

Center of the city, across the train station were the reason we chose this place, room was small, no elevator, but clean and comfy. Staff were the family members who own the place, were very helpful and nice. Staying there gave us the real feel of Paris, our view from the room were the rooftops where you see the doves... More

Just returned from a city-break to Paris with our two boys. Stayed here in a quadruple room on the 2nd floor. It was facing the road which is a little noisy so we had taken ear-plugs but the double glazing meant we didn't need them. Bathroom was really clean. Loads of towels and very powerful shower. Beds were really comfy... More

The manager was helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and patient with somewhat rusty French language skills. The hotel has been in his family for decades so there is pride of ownership and it shows. This hotel is conveniently situated close to Parisian attractions (just a short Metro ride away), and has a laundromat, restaurants, and a cybercafe within a block or two,... More

Very rude staff they do not speak english well, this hotel has 1 star but it definitely does not even Deserve the 1 star it has. This place should be a hostel. It has 6 floors with no elevator. The place Always had a strong smell of food cooking which would go up to the 6th floor. Very expensive rate... More

We travelled to Paris to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary. I booked this as a surprise for my wife and chose this hotel based on the good reviews on tripadvisor. We absolutely loved it. From start to finsh it was just perfect. The manager was very helpful, with a great sense of humour. He was very knowledgeable regarding transport links... More

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and our experience can be described as decent. Paris is expensive and for a one star hotel, it did its job. After the initial shock with the dirty carpeted floor (broken glass under the bed, not sure what the cleaning ladies did with their vacuum since they always had them every morning),... More

Paris is not an easy city for cheap accommodation. Hostels are still expensive and crowded, and mid-range hotels are too dear. We were lucky to find Grand Hotel Voltaire and got a good rate for a room with three beds (but we were two). The bathroom was really new and clean with a great shower, and the beds were comfy.... the first thing to say is the staff like to speak french only so i coped but for some people this might be a problem. The night manager was friendly and had a sense of humour. Our room was very small on the first floor and had a tiny bathroom where you could both sit on the toilet and use... More
