Imagine you have converted a house into a hotel but you are too cheap to install proper sound proofing between the floors and between the rooms.
This is the Hotel Argence. You can hear when next door go to the toilet. You can hear when someone clip clops up and down the stairs. You can hear when the people in...

Friendly (english-speaking) staff; great location; free wi-fi; quiet at nights. OK, it is only two star so don't expect too much but the price is right. It is odd to assume that customers do not want parking unless they specifically ask for it and this seems to have vexed other reviewers (even though there is free parking in the street...

Well located. Garage parking (which needs to be booked specifically). Welcoming reception. Gloomy, basic corridor and staircase. Very basic room, reminiscent of a student hostel room. Cramped shower/loo room.

Not the most characterful hotel by any means, it's basically more like a motel, but the Argence is reasonable, clean, and warm, and within ten minutes walk to the historic centre. Very friendly and helpful staff, providing maps and directions. Off street secure garaged parking. Go elswhere for style, but go here for a practical place to stay.
