Myself and my partner stayed here for a romantic weekend away the last weekend in April for our anniversary, but the hotel was a lot less than romantic, more like what the weather was like that weekend-dismal. There was know remote for the TV and all of 5 channels to watch which kept switching itself off then back on again,... More

We stayed in June 2011 for my best friend's hen party. In total there was around 15 of us paying £30 each, so it was good value. The hotel is in pretty bad shape, worn carpets, torn wallpaper and the rooms are shabby. But it was totally clean. The staff were very friendly, and very tolerant when i and 2... More

Stayed here recently for one night over the easter bank holiday. Very friendly receptionist. The room was big but very, very dull - on the verge of depressing. It looked like we had stepped back in time decor wise. We were told by the receptionist "how did you get this room, our manager normally chooses to stay in here" -... More

Anyone used to four star hotels can easily criticise this hotel but I've stayed there about 10 times and would stay again. I have never had a need to complain. The staff are friendly and it's a good location and inexpensive compared with elsewhere. It is true that the rooms need some TLC but they are clean and that's what... More

I have stayed at this Hotel quite a few times now, and have always been given such a warm welcome by the staff. The Hotellooks so un pretenous from the outside, but as soon as you enter you feel at home,I nearly always have room 210 which overlooks Piccadilly. This room is very big with a King Sizebed, andallthe facilities... More

Reception and dining room staff are friendly and welsoming, service is good and the hotel and bedroom was clean. Ths is an historic hotel in a building which benefits from not being modernised and you should bear this in mind when booking. There can be noise from nearby club at the weekend. Overall good value. Ok it is not at the posh end of the spectrum but it is cheap, central and appears clean. Set two mins walk from Piccadily Station on the edge of the village and 5 mins walk to the City Centre what more could you want? Well maybe take the ash trays out of the rooms and stop people smoking in... More

This hotel doesn't look to impressive when you first look at it - its very close to Manchester Picadilly station and basically looks like an old pub. However as soon as you go through the doors it feels as though you are back in the 1950s. The entrance is very grand (take a look at the general photo on this... More
