I stayed here on sat and managed to book a room for myself for £29..was visiting friends and wanted a crash pad so I could sleep when they carried on partying. Right next to Canal Street (bonus), the building and interior was like a huge cruise ship and was very nice. I didnt expect much from the room going by... More

We stayed in room 528 on 18/5/13. The only plus i can say is.. what a wonderful piece of architecture! A truely beautiful building but unfortunately very tired and worn. I could have managed that for the one night but although the room was clean it was cold and no working heating. We were aware of the adjoining late night... More

Stayed here for a friends birthday and after reading negative reviews I became weary, upon booking we were told the room would have no windows, what kind of hotel has a room with no windows? Staff are not very friendly on reception and are all rude and abrupt and need some customer service skills. our room was on the third... More

My husband and myself were booked into this hotel for 4 nights on a coach tour of the area. After reading the reviews we were very anxious about the hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised. We had an executive twin bedded room which was quite large. Beds were very comfortable and clean. The bathroom spacious and clean also. The food... More

Stayed for 1 night midweek at a cheap price. Staff were helpful and entrance was very grand. Room however was not. Bed was very clean and comfortable (so main thing ok for us) but other things not so good. Only lamps (one bulb not working and one with a dodgy wiring), stained carpet and curtains, screws sticking out of (badly... More

stayed in a double room at the start of may. room was disgusting, dated, didnt even have a working light in the room so had to use two dull, smelly lamps to light up the room!! after arriving at the hotel and seeing such a grand entrance area, was expecting much more from the rooms!! shower was very dirty and... Do not stay here if you can help it. Its cheap but not particularly cheerful. The whole place has an atmosphere of the chav about it, from the drunks spilling out of Bar Rogue to the threadbare carpet on the stairs. The shower was stone cold and the room stank of cigarettes. But for £25 what do you expect?

Stayed here with friends on a night out in Manchester recently. Yes it was cheap and yes it was in a great location but much was left to be desired! Even if it is cheap you still expect cleanliness, not immaculate but relative cleanliness???? This was the most dirty hotel I have ever stayed in! You honestly could not move... More

My wife booked us into this hotel for 3 days for a gig at the Manchester Arena. for convenience it was good, and the reception staff were helpful and friendly - and that's where it stopped! Although the foyer is acceptable and appears quite grand, in the bar (Comptons) there is a baby grand piano that has seen better days,... More

Stayed here for a hen weekend, didn't book so didnt get to see the rooms or would have avoided. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The whole hotel smells of cigarette smoke, the room was dirty, the customer service was abysmal and the food that we ordered room service for was in edible. To top it... More
