The Red Lion is in a good position in the centre of Epworth. The Inn has a lovely bar area which was very cosy. Our room was a basic double which was more than adequate for our one night stay. All staff were very friendly and welcoming which made for a very pleasant stay. Our evening meal in the restaurant... More

I recently stayed at the Red Lion in Epworth following purchasing a Rural night away via Groupon, the Inn was welcoming & we had a bottle of Cava on arrival the room (suite) was comfortable & slightly away from the main pub. The food was delicious & received 20% off the bill the menu had a good variety & breakfast... More

My OH and I stayed for one night in the St Leger Suite. We had a very enjoyable stay. We found the staff very pleasant and helpful, the food tasty and reasonably priced, and the suite was fantastic - big telly, lounge, study and bedroom. Big bathroom too, with a good-sized bath and multi-jet shower - absolutely lovely. Got it... More

We stayed for one night as part of the groupon deal and pretty much got what we paid for. The room was small and basic and in need of a bit of renovation. My main gripe was the bed - it creaked with every movement, and when coupled with the noise from next door's toilet fan it didn't make for... More

Ever seen the film "Hot Fuzz", set in the sleepy village of Sanford? For Sanford read Epworth, and for the Red Lion read the Sawn, the resemblance was uncanny! no phone signal, no wifi,(it's 2012) and just one person behind the bar acting as waitress, bar maid and receptionist, I had room 2, very VERY basic. My TV was something from... More

We booked via Groupon, On arrival was given the key to room 5, a twin room which we knew about, settled in then went down in to the bar area for a couple of drinks etc. in the mean time other people were arriving and there seemed to be some problem regards to overbooking, We heard the ' receptionist '... We stayed for one night via a Groupon voucher. Was in room 9, it was midweek so bar was quite, no outside noise. The room was twin beds, which i already knew. Could do with a new tv in the room as it was a constant buzzing noise coming from it.. The bathroom needed bringing up to date as shabby... More

We booked via Groupon, not knowing the area or its history. We could only book for Sunday but turned it into a nice drive out, arriving after 14:00 and finding ample room in the car park. A very pleasant welcome, and directed to our room straight away. The room was small but more than adequate, nice and clean with TV,... More
