My wife and I visited Tewkesbury last weekend for the day. For lunch we popped into the Royal Hop Pole, a Wetherspoon free house.
The pub is incredibly large inside and filled with little nooks and crannies to sit in. The service/food/drink is the usual Wetherspoon fayre. Ales were charged at £2.29 per pint, which I imagine is pretty unbeatable...

We stayed one night at this Wetherspoons and had a large and comfortable room (although all hotel beds are always too hard for me). The lighting was not great, with no light by the dressing table, although there was a mirror and socket. the bathroom was fine and everythinig worked well, although there was a strange smell there that we...

I was not expecting such a warm welcoming and comfortable hotel (being a wetherspoons pub). The reception team was extremely happy, friendly and very helpful team, who enjoy talking to guests and were very nice. The rooms were very comfortable (extra pillows were immediately available) which was a huge bonus. The room was clean, there was one downfall in that...

The downstairs pub is a maze of rooms which are bustling no matter what time of day it is - in fact the...

Spent last saturday night at the Hop Pole for my husbands birthday.
Hotel was easy to find, right in the center of town but with free parking (if you ask for a permit) behind.
This building is very old and historical, not at all my thing but my husband LOVED it so this review will also contain his opinions as...

After arriving at Tewesbury my partner and I were pleased when we got a free carparking pass behind the hotel. We had planned to stay for two nights so we wouldn't have to drive back to Lincolnshire after visiting the Cheltenham Races. However when we got into our room, it was dark, cold and smelt bizzare. The bed was so...

Booked last minute for nearly half price. Parked right outside at the back from arrival at 2pm to departure next morning at 10 am, for free. Town is interesting, abbey is a must-see. Hotel building is very atmospheric. Lots of space and nooks and crannies. Staff were all professional and friendly. Sociable locals eating and drinking in the evening. Food...

Everything we want from a hotel, spacious room spotlessly clean and very nice staff, faultless.
