We stayed at Thurnham Keep to attend a friend's 50th birthday locally. Amazing house and a warm, friendly welcome: nothing was too much trouble. We'll definitely be back soon for a weekend break exploring the local countryside.

We really enjoyed our stay! Will go back if we are in the neighbourhood. Beautiful rooms, grounds are fabulous. The black horse pub down the road was fantastic, and had great food. Book in advance during busy times... The keep is in a great location close to Leeds castle, which is a must see.

We visited having read all the reviews and hoping it could live up to at least some of them but it lived up to them all. It is hard to think how Amanda could improve her welcome, the comfort and beauty of the rooms and house or her marvellous cooking...it was all wonderful! We were given helpful advise about local...

Thurnham Keep is a great place to stay and to indulge in a great atmosphere. A wonderful retreat in time and space, far away from the wild, wild world.
Amanda is a great host and the place has a great location. It reminded me of a traditional mansion where people like Great Gatsby would enjoy a tea whenever they would...

We have stayed here twice, once in 2006 and once in 2011. We generally like to vary our B&B stays when we travel, but this place is so great we had to return. The home itself is really quite unbelievable. It's large, yet because there are only three guest bedrooms, there is a very homey, intimate feel to it. We've...

When returning from Loughborough we stayed at the Thurnham Keep house overlooking the Maidstone valley. It looked good on the pictures and Tripadvisor had high ratings for it, but in actual fact it was more impressive. The host Amanda has taken the subject of B&B and made it a unique experience. She acts as a real full time host, afternoon...

The rooms are superbly decorated, light and with great views, the breakfast was more than...

Thurnham Keep is an imposing Arts and Craft style Edwardian country house, built in 1910 as the summer residence of a wealthy English woman, on a 7 acre site with a pool, tennis court and croquet lawn. Amanda Lane made us feel very welcome, and we enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine on the terrace when we arrived, with a...
