This hotel is in San Felipe, not Rio Lagartos as some TA pages state. It is also NOWHERE near any of the local attractions listed by TA - most of which seem to be in Monterey, Nuevo Leon. The hotel is a family run affair and they work hard to make you happy during your stay. The restaurant is open... More

Charming hotel, owners friendly despite our lack of Spanish. We were the only ones staying. Dinner not much options but we loved the fish that was cooked for us. Pancakes next day good to. View from room stunning. Room very od, with 3 beds and a stairwell up to an attic room. Lots of paintings all apparently done by owner.... More

Bare bones, but large room with hot water well woren linens and towels. It felt like the place had built 10 years ago and remained untouched except for cleaning since. If it has been thirty dollars, the value would have been about right. A room with a view in the main lodge at fifty would be worth it, even in... More

Simple rooms, a bit outdated. They look a bit shabby and dirty, especialy the bathroom. For only a few pesos extra you get a sea side room with balcony. this viwe will give you the possibility to see the sunset and sunrise in the morning. breakfast and dinner was simple but not bad. More

We visited the small fishing village of San Felipe while visiting the Bioshpere reserve of Rio Lagartos and a flamingo tour. Hotel San Felipe is a good choice for lodgings while visiting Rio Lagartos-it is a short drive from the reserve. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. They have a.c. but we did not need it as there was... More

My husband and I spent one night at the Hotel San Felipe as part of our excursion to Rio Lagartos. We spent the previous night in Valladolid and then drove up to Rio Lagartos, stopiing at the ruins of Ek Balam on the way. We arrived in the town of Rio Lagartos in the afternoon and hired a boat to... More

If your idea is heaven is resort row in Cancun, you can stop reading now. But if you love real Mexico and long for unspoiled places and people, you've hit the jackpot. And Hotel San Felipe is a big part of what makes this destination special. The hotel is full of character and sea breezes, but it's spotless, with excellent,... More

As the other reviewer outlined it, there is very little to do in San Felipe. It is nonetheless a charming little place and you can catch the wonderful ruins of Ek Balam on the way there or back. There actually are 3 or 4 restaurants on the mainstreet in town but they are not open after 5 PM on Sunday... More
