This hotel proved to be one of my surprises during our Ireland tour this August. Its location is excellent, a few steps from town center. It has very clean rooms (although somehow old-fashioned), excellent room service, a nice and big breakfast room by the river, a very rich breakfast and, most of all, a very friendly and highly efficient staff.... more

Can't ask for a better location across the river with view of Kilkenny Castle. Restaurants and shops all within a few minutes walk. Parking is very tight, but available. Service is great and rooms are very nice. Breakfast selection was quite large in dining room overlooking river and castle. more

We stayed one night in this lovely hotel and found the staff to be very friendly, polite and helpfull. The double room we stayed in was overlooking the river and had a gorgeous view of the castle, plenty big and had a huge bed. Slept soundly!! Would definately go back. more

On our first trip to Ireland, we started with time in Dublin and then a West Cork cottage. Kilkenny was just a stopping point to break up the drive back to Dublin. Nice location at side of river. Great hot breakfast even though buffet style with masses of options. Main problem very very hard mattresses on beds. Minor housekeeping issues in room, stains on carpet but otherwise generally clean. Meals in restaurant pricey but you can opt to eat outside overlooking river.
