As with most Travelodge accommodation, it is basic; in this hotel in particular the room we stayed in was a little tired. The location is uninspiring and dreary, but a 10-15 minute walk into the lovely Galway city soon takes your mind off the drab hotel. Silly little things could make the difference here, such as having an iron and... more

This hotel was excellent value for money, with free parking in the front. It was an ideal base for touring the surrounding area and about a twenty minute walk to the town centre. The receptionist was very helpful when we arrived, but missing on several other occasions. The room was very clean and pleasant. more

Stayed for 4 nights and this is a great example of a Travelodge! Within walking distance to the centre of Galway. Rooms were clean, what little food we had was fine. Parking wasn't an issue. Although on a main road we didn't hear any noise at night and didn't feel the area was a problem for walking around later on. more

Stayed for four nights at the Travelodge Galway. We had an 11 month old baby with us. I asked for a cot at reception and it was delivered to our room within five minutes. The receptionist was really polite and helpful. I can't remember her name, she was a girl from lifford. The room was very spacious, and we had enough... more

We stayed only one night at the Travelodge Galway, as from the other reviews I was hesitant to book here, but we had no problems. Yes, the halls were smokey, but the rooms were not and we couldn't detect any smell from inside. We didn't have any problems with rowdy behavior. Even though it was July, it was lightly booked.... more

Hi There, Thank you for your time to write your positive review about our hotel. They are always welcome! I can also assure you our reception team does not tolerate smoking in the non smoking parts of the building – however, it’s not always easy to stop people having a sneaky cigarette! We do hope to see you again soon....

Just fine.

I stayed here for two nights by myself. I got a very low rate online, and didn't expect anything special from the reviews on here. The walk from the city center is about 15 minutes, and not bad, just be careful crossing the street at the roundabout! Room was clean enough, but had a damp, musty smell. My one concern... more

Hi There, Thank you for your time to write your review about our hotel. We can never improve unless we get feedback from our customers. I have sent comments about smell in the room onto the hotel general manager to take action immediately. We have reception staff working in the back of reception also there is Café Bar staff, we...

Chain hotel and no-frills, but a pleasant enough stay. The lady on reception was courteous and professional and check in was fine. Hotel was average but the price was good. Overall a comfortable stay without spending a fortune. Galway City is a good 10 minutes walk from the hotel, and we drove in (parking a nightmare and expensive) but the... more

Well what can I say about the Travelodge in Galway.... We arrived for check in at 3pm armed with our cash to pay for our room, as it says you the Travelodge website that you can pay in cash or my card. Got to the reception to be told by a very unwelcoming receptionist who looked like they couldn't be... more

I wouldnt normally bother to review a Travel Lodge as most travellers know what they are & what you get. However i stayed in 3 hotels this week of which the cheapest by far was the travelodge at 49 euros a night (i think) but it represented the worst value for money. Located on a busy road the room was... more

I'd forgotten what Travelodges were like, unfortunately. This is literally only acceptable as a roof over your head, and very little else. As a triple room, the double bed had a much too soft, saggy mattress and flat pillows (no extras). The sofa bed was rock hard, in contrast. The bathroom was clean, thankfully, but only came with one scabby... more

Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to write your review about our hotel. I’m sorry you felt the mattress was a little soft; I will pass your comment onto the operations manager. As well as the pillows on the bed, we also provide a spare on the wardrobe shelf, and most customers find this meets their needs perfectly. But...
