Stayed on business as on the face of things it looked like a good vfm place for a one night stay but I was so wrong. It gave me the impression of a 1950's institution with very basic bedrooms and a bathroom that was beyond belief but not in a positive way. There were three rows of cream tiles just... More

Do not stay here receptionist was extremely rude and unhelpful, complete disregard for the guests. We had booked in for 10 pm we arrive ten minutes late, we knocked on the door no answer then we rang the hotel and a very rude chap answered the phone we explained that we were outside and to answer the door he refused... Hi stayed in Tara hall just before Christmas. It is a standard enough bed and breakfast but the history of this old building is amazing. It was built in 1800 and was for many years used as a school. It was the residence of monk gibbon a famous Irish writer and poet. Some of his books are on display in... More

Very nice people, bedroom was a good size with tiny bathroom. In need of some updating. It looks like the place is being slowly neglected and in need of a paint job. Very tacky and out dated colors on the walls. I don’t think I would stay again and not sure if I would recommend it. Tidy but needs a... More

I stayed at the same time as the previous two reviewers. Owner thought I had "colic" which was very funny, but we explained coeliac disease. He said he would purchase bread and also sausages, which seemed very generous and considerate. However, when we arrived I got the "Irish mammy" guilt trip about how expensive the bread was. Bad start. We... More

Firstly neither owner knew a thing about Coeliac Disease which is appalling, and dangerous. They had plenty of time to research it before our arrival (and I mean weeks), but did not. The breakfast was greasy, the fruit was from a tin, the juices were cheap, sugar and water mostly I'm guessing, and there were no herbal or decaffeinated options.... More

This is the worst place I have ever stayed in. The owner kept getting our surname wrong, despite being repeatedly corrected, a bad start. The breakfast was absolutely awful, swimming in grease. One member of our group is a coeliac and she hadn't a clue what this meant, and kept moaning about how much a (small) loaf of gluten-free bread... More

Our room was lovely as we had 3 children and lots of space, and a great breakfast with lots of food to set... More
