I am a 57 year old women traveling alone and had a fabulous experience w/ everthing a b&b could offer from light conversation to helpful hints as well. The breakfasts were so tasty and filling and the rooms clean. Was not frightened or uneasy walking at night either. Would go back in a second. More

To visit our son in Dublin Harveys Guesthouse was an excellent place to stay. The guesthouse offered good value for money. We stayed here for 4 nights. The owner and her staf were very friendly. They made us feel at home. Borrowing boots and raincoats because of the heavy rain? You don't have to ask them, because they already did... More

I am a 60 year old woman traveling alone. When I arrived with two very heavy bags, I was told my room was on the top floor and left alone to haul my bags up seven flights of stairs. The room was tiny and dingy. The plaster above the bed was cracked and water-stained from the roof leaking. The box... More

Dear tripper B4, It genuinely disturbs me that I, in anyway, might unknowingly cause grief to a customer, where many of the people who have stayed here tell me how much they have enjoyed it, this can never make up for the one who has been upset. The room which you had been allotted, being a single room, is one... More

We stayed at Harvey's Guesthouse in August 2011. As the owner was on holidays we were received by his 75 year old mother, who really did a GREAT job. We were impressed by the friendlyness and service she offered. We had a heavy suitcase with use - because of that she refused to give us the prebooked room upstairs so... More

I'm actually kind of surprised that this B&B got so many positive reviews, because it is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! First of all, nothing works in this hotel: starting from the blow dryer, curtains are ripped, ceiling falls off (and noone is there to clean the mess). Breakfast is not great either, and it is always the same. I totally understand that... More

Dear Stardust1 thanks for the feed back, sorry you got such a bad impression, you are correct I do get many happy Customers but it would make me happier if all those who stayed here were pleased, I did check out the items you mentioned and have put them right, this is an ongoing job in this business, even though... We (my girl-friend and I) stayed at Harvey's Guesthouse for three nights. When we entered the entrance door for the first time, we already had a good impression - it's a neat and clean "lobby" in a charming old-fashioned style. Same counts for our room: clean and top-class furnished! The bathroom was in good condition with a couple of towels... More

Plus side: 1. The owner is very hands on. She makes sure everyones' comfortable. 2. Services are are amazingly great will make you feel almost home. 3. Great value. Downside: 1. It's 10-15 minutes walk to the city center, not a perfect place if you dont have a car and when the weather is not so good. 2. Wifi only... More

harveys guest house is located in a very rough area of dublin, but is easily walking distance from all main attractions. the location of the hotel despite being scary when walking at night is probably the only thing it has going for it. our room was in the attic is was freezing colder than outside, it was run down and... We stayed in this hotel on Saturday night while attending the All Ireland football final the following day. The guesthouse is in a perfect location for attending events at Croke Park. Mrs. Flood the owner kindly permitted us to leave our car in the carpark while we attended the match. The service amongst the owners and staff is very personable... More

The guest house is about 15 mins walk from Temple Bar, so is in a quite convenient location. The lady running the guest house was very friendly and helpful. We were sharing a 3 bedded room, which was quite roomy, with en suite bath with shower, there was plenty of hot water for all of us to bathe too. Minus... More
