My partner brought me here for a birthday surprise and I was not disappointed. The room rate includes a half bottle of champagne, which is a nice touch. The room was warm and clean, and even the proximity to the road didn't bother us as it is well glazed. The bathroom is generously proportioned with an excellent and powerful shower... More

High expectations. Outcome: Dire quality. Bland. Tasteless. Badly presented. Down market pub lunch. Extortionately expensive-£57 for 2. Had a good reputation – now terrible. Trading on past successes. Save your money and, find better quality elsewhere. Champany; you need to significantly improve. More

A cross between a hotel and a B&B, so don't expect a gym or swimming pool, but whatever it actually is classified as, the service, rooms, and friendly staff make it a great place to stay if you are in the vicinity, and I will definitely stay here again next time I need to be in Linlithgow. Very good sized... More

Took my girlfriend for a birthday celebration with Dinner, Bed & Breakfast. It was fantastic. It is important to realise that this is a Restaurant with Rooms, not a hotel. Therefore it is not a place with room service, 24hr reception or other hotel standards. That said, the room was large and given it was the coldest day of the... More

Stayed here four nights and had a very pleasant experience. The room was large with a comfortable king size bed, the bathroom was also large with a shower and a tub. More importantly, the room and inn were very clean. When we arrived there was a half bottle of Champagne on ice, which is a nice touch and every day... More

Our stay was to celebrate my husbands birthday. Our room was nicely located towards the back of the hotel. The champagne which I had prearranged to have on arrival was nicely chilled. However, we were somewhat surprised to learn that the 'cocktail bar' 'in' the restaurant did not in fact serve cocktails!! Our meal from the quick supper menu was... More

This was a big wedding anniversary for us and as a very special treat my husband booked a meal at the main restaurant and a room for the night. We had eaten at the Chop and Ale House before in the past and the food and service had been good. This was to be a really special treat. My smoked... More

The Champany Inn had been recommended by friends as a must visit restaurant. We were a bit surprised by some of the reviews as these didn't chime with what our friends had said. Booked up for two nights, one eating in main restaurant one in the chop and ale house. The welcome in the main restaurant was extremely courteous and... More

Stayed here for my husbands 40th birthday. Not something we will repeat. We have eaten in the restaurant a great many times and had clients and friends with us at different times. Until now, the restaurant was a special place. However on this occasion we were extremely let down. The couple next to us wore no shoes at their table... More
