we stayed at the Duck bay on Sat 18th May, and will not be back. the hotel is vastly overrated, bar staff were very rude and could not be bothered to serve us, food was bland and boring!!! this is a shame because the hotel is situated in a very nice spot right on loch Lomond. much better to try... We stayed at this hotel for one night 18/5/2013 we wish we had not bothered, The staff are rude the rooms are over priced and the food to be quite honest was boring. I would avoid this hotel and look for another if you want to stay in the area.

I had a lunch today with my two children and a younger baby who sat in a highchair. The food was delayed as the waiter mistook our order. Food was bland and very expensive and certainly not worth the money. As most babies do, my baby played with the menus and dropped some crayons on the floor (which the staff... More

The CCTV pictures in addition to the photographs taken by the staff paint a different picture. The mess you left was unacceptable as was your behaviour. Food had been thrown all over the table and trampled all over the carpet. You need to grasp the concept that you eat the food not use it as something to throw at each... More

I've been to Duck Bay a good number of times. Lovely place to spend a summer evening, sitting outside and looking over the the Loch. The restaurant itself is lovely and has been modernised over the last few years, always a very welcoming feel to it. Staff always very helpful. The food middle range in terms of price. Good choice... The location of the restaurant and the view are stunning. I think it would be a wonderful place to sit out during summer months. The menu is diverse. Perhaps to diverse as the dishes were dissapointing. Chicken burger was dry. The prawns tasted like they had come out of the freezer. The kitchen needs some work to live up to... More

We can recommend the hotel. Our room was large and clean. We received a very warm welcome. Breakfast was fine with stunning views over the Loch. The restaurant seems to be very popular but not at all to our taste. A very large menu meaning a large amount of per-preparation must take place. My mashed potato was foul. Good service... More

We always make a point of visiting here for lunch on my birthday. We have been on many occasions also whilst travelling further up Loch Lomond to Tyndrum and beyond. There is a good choice on the menu and is a little more than average on prices, but hey! what a view of Loch Lomond you get while being served... More

Popped in for late lunch on way back from Fort William and wasn't disappointed. Food was delicious again. Fish is always excellent and always a healthy portion size , none of this tiny portion malarkey. Quite an extensive menu from snack size items including baked potatoes , sandwiches to full main course items. The ice-cream Sundays are excellent ! The... More

We enjoyed the restaurant although visiting it on a whim. It is medium priced. The food was hot, plentiful and tasty. Menu was large and varied, and the beer was cold! Restaurant was full, but service was good, a wee bit slow, but understandable. The views from the restaurant are outstanding. This is a nice place to take someone special... More

It had been years since we visited Duck Bay. We were pleasantly surprised by the interior changes and the extensive menu. Whether the carvery or the al a carte the food was beautiful, well presented and good value for money. The service was good and with a smile too. Well worth a visit.
