Without doubt this has got to be one of the best B&B's in Scotland. Marie and Ian are wonderful hosts in a stunning location 8 miles north of Portree. We were welcomed with home made chocolate brownies and then shown to Spoons 3 - a truly lovely room. Breakfast was absolutely amazing and we found that we didn't need to... More

I stayed 2 nights in spoons 2 and had to give my first trip advisor review. The rooms and common areas are beautifully decorated, service was impeccable the entire time, and Marie was generous with advice and helping make taxi arrangements to my next destination even before I arrived. I highly recommend this experience, Marie and Ian are gracious hosts... More

We wanted to stay here so much that we booked the rest of our island hopping trip around their availability. Be warned, I almost left it too late so plan ahead! A long time ahead.... We had such a wonderful time. Of course the house is very special, it has been beautifully finished and is full of interesting things and... More

I just cannot emphasise enough how good the breakfast was!!! Homemade pancakes, homemade yoghurt, local boar sausages. What more do you want! The breakfast was so good that I simply could not stop eating and I couldn't think of food for the rest of the day. In addition, the room was spotlessly clean with amazing views. I understand why this... More

When you travel far from your country of origin, nothing is more inviting than staying in a home away from home. We read the reviews from others who had chosen The Spoons and decided to do so as well. We could not have been more pleased with our experience. Marie and Ian are born bed and breakfast hosts. From the... More

We had a wonderfully relaxing experience at The Spoons. Marie and Ian are genuine, kind and the perfect hosts. The attention to detail is second to none and a lot of 5 star relais and chateaux hotels could learnt a lot from the warmth, excellent service and comfort offered at The Spoons. The rooms are lovingly and tastefully decorated with... More

Following various great reviews by many travelling to the beautiful Isle of Skye, we were fortunate to find availability at the Spoons that fitted our itinerary (I mean we actually had to switch things around and gravitated our itinerary to fit their availability !!!). Centrally located in the northern side of Skye, which is close to all tourist attractions, it... More

Agree with all the other reviewers. Marie went above and beyond by washing some of our clothes for us as we were near the end of the trip. She had excellent suggestions for places to visit and eat! Both Ian and Marie were genuine and the perfect hosts! Suggest booking way in advance. I booked 4 nights 4-5 months out.... More

We stayed at the Spoons on our honeymoon and had such a wonderful time. Marie and Ian were great hosts and made sure everything was perfect, even arranging a 'honeymoon' present of some sparkling wine for us when we went to the Three Chimneys for dinner on one evening during our stay. Breakfasts were hearty, quality ingredients, expertly cooked. Stayed... More

You know sometimes you plow through Tripadvisor for hours and hours researching a trip. Endless reviews, photos, maps and graphs. It can get quite exasperating and tedious. Then the tripadvisor gods sprinkle a little moon dust and you tap on the key and hey presto; The Spoons appears. Then the caution and doubt creep in, can anywhere be this good?... More
