3rd fantastic stay at this hotel run by Lorna and ably assisted by Willie, Irene. Iain, Charlotte and the rest of the wonderful staff. Rooms are exceptional. Heat would kill you. We had a party of 9 shooting woodcock and chef cooked them "whole" for a starter one evening. Fantastic dinner and breakfast menus and picnic lunch included hot game... More

I ate here last night, I can't understand the bad reviews. I only had a main, the vension, but it was one of the best meals I had on Islay. If you're looking for a lovely meal, in a place with a log fire, at an affordable price go to the Bridgend. I will be back, and this time I... More

Lorna and her staff were very obliging. Wonderful atmosphere and food was excellent with great choices. We had lots of fun even though it was a short visit. Thank you so much. A must to stay at when visiting Islay. More

We had dinner at the Bridgend hotel while on our honeymoon at the recommendation of the B&B we were staying at. On arrival the staff were able to accomodate us as we had not booked. We were given the option of waiting in the lounge or going straight to our table. We opted for the table. Drinks, dinner and desert... More

We arrived in Islay off season and had difficulty finding a hotel as those that were open were filled with workers repairing an ocean pipeline. We stopped here and the lady running the hotel said she could give us one room and she would take the rest of us to her home is she couldn't find rooms. She called 14... More

Title says most of it. Two rooms were clean but small and could do with improvement. Evening meals and the staff compensated for very average breakfast - despite 3 mornings, soft eggs an impossibility, poor morning service. Fruit & juice ran out early. More

Just returned from a very busy Islay and managed to squeeze into the popular Bridgend Hotel again, for a couple of nights. The rooms are really lovely and very peaceful. The food is excellent and the welcome is always more of the return of a friend than an unknown traveller. Bridgend is in the heart of Islay and is the... More

Well located in the centre of the Island, so easy to get around. My room was clean and cosy, with everything I needed for a short stay. Bed was comfortable, showeroom was spotless with about the best shower I've found in a hotel anywhere!) Didn't have dinner at the hotel, but menu and prices looked good. Breakfast was very good,...
