I love this hotel!!!! We go every year and always love it! It is simple - but that is what makes it great - you can really switch off from the hectic modern world! The food is excellent! The rooms are comfortable and the views are amazing!!!! The staff are always very friendly and accomadating! Go here if you need... More

We stayed on Iona so that we could visit Fingal's Cave. The trip to the island was fun, a ferry from Oban, a bus across Mull and then a ferry to Iona. The hotel was in a beautiful location, rooms a bit dated but we had a corner room with a beautiful view. The restaurant serves organic (and for my... More

This restaurant is just perfect for enjoying a good meal with a beautiful view! This was for certain our favourite restaurant experience in Iona. We had the friendliest waiter who really added to the experience, He had only been there for 2 weeks when we were there but yet was so helpful, accomodating and enthusiastic about Iona and the surrounding... This is not a fancy hotel, but it's very comfortable. The rooms are large and clean. It's located close to the ferry, the Abbey, and the major sights the island has to offer. The best part, however, is the food. The dinners are spectacular and have vegetarian options. They use organic produce grown in their own garden. The presentation of... More

Hotel has great views of Mull and the sea. Although to get to the hotel you have to walk up hill for 900 yards. Rooms small and basic. Food very nice. Service was very good. More

Friendly and welcoming. Very good food. Very good service. Obliging staff. Delightful views from a peaceful lounge. Homely. Some creaks above our ground floor bedroom from the rooms above, but not anything that we could not sleep through. Thorougly enjoyed our stay, and looked forward to returning the hotel each evening. After working on the Isle of Iona twice, I finally got to be a guest myself at the St. Columba Hotel and it was the best hotel of our trip. The rooms were great (the updated bathroom was especially nice!) and the food was absolutely amazing. We were told that the chef was on holiday that week, but you would... More

Someone else's quote-- Kenneth Clarke (Lord), who really gave such a succinct account of how he felt everytime he visited Iona. How thoroughly apt. My feelings exactly and no more. That's why I felt I needed to make another visit, albeit that some forty years had passed since my first trip! Nothing has changed. Iona does offer you that inner... More

I really enjoyed my trip to Iona. The service and food at the St Columba was wonderful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a great place to RELAX as there is a quiet space in the sunroom facility that has excellent views- no mobile telephones going off and no TV. Can use the computers if needed.... More

A friend and I stayed in the St. Columba Hotel for three nights in mid-May. We booked in October, and received a confirmation letter with many useful details. The welcome and orientation were first rate, and we appreciated the transport of our bags to and from the ferry. We experienced slow service at dinner the first night, and the desk... More
