Read other reviews and thought hotel would be ok. The location was spot on as I had a meeting in Irvine the next morning. Was booked in for a 2 night stay, and was disappointed with the cleanliness, especially in the bathroom. On entering our room I had a look in the bathroom and found a big splodge of urine on the toilet seat right at the front, couldnt be missed. If only the staff were trained & motivated properly and believed in their hotel then this place might actually be worth 4-stars. I stayed in this hotel about 7 years ago when it was a thistle and the difference was remarkable. They have closed off the kid's swimming pool which used to dominate the whole hotel mostly with moisture and humidity it will be interesting to see what they do with the space.
