Located in a residential neighborhood, overlooking a large field with two cattle grazing, we found this hotel to be very nice. We were welcomed by the hotel manager before we were allowed off the bus. Only room that we had with two luggage racks on the entire trip. Large room with very large bathroom with heated floor. Multiple windows. Comfortable... More

Booked an executive room as I thought we are old enough to treat ourselves now, expensive, £140 per night with continental breakfast but thought, yeh go on then. Staff were very friendly and seemed efficient, no complaints. The room was small, very shabby with bad staining on the carpet, Bed was rough and falling to bits and the decor was... More

Grand outside but room was disappointing - basic, rather run down, view of roof, not really value for money. At breakfast had difficulties being able to get attention of waiters in order to be seated and order food. Supposed to be Conference Centre but hardly any equipment, had to ask several times for help from hotel staff. Ended up moving... More

The surroundings were beautiful, the room elegant, the staff extremley friendly and helpful. If I come back o the Highlands of Scotland again I would make it a point to stay at this lovely hotel. Feel it should be rated a 5 star hotel. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

I believe the 4 AA star Newton Hotel in Nairn is on the market. Whoever buys it might need deep pockets and a lot of imagination. During our stay there were several signs that both the fabric of the building and the service provided were getting a bit threadbare. Country house shabby chic is old leather chairs with horse hair... More

Nice rooms can't really compensate for the appallingly limited menu on offer. This hotel really only caters for conferences standard hotel guests are tolerated not shown care or consideration. This chain (Oxford hotel group) is a blight on good service. They also run the Craigellachie Hotel (badly)

Stayed at the Newton in Nairn, Scotland during our CIE Scottish Tour. This was an old Castle like hotel with beautiful grounds and period rooms. Antique furnishings, excellent bed and a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere. Deer and other wildlife abound. Great pub and Scottish breakfast. Terrific staff. Quiet and peaceful.

Hotel was well presented, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was nice, the televisions are very dated and is the only reason I have not scored 5. Food was good. Overall a excellent hotel.

The hotel was a castle/mansion rebuilt in 1650 and 1950 when an addition was added to convert it into a hotel. We stayed in the old part in a beautiful room with a big bathroom. We wandered the halls in the evening and explored the open rooms which are now used for a variety of purposes--meeting rooms, a bar, etc.... More

Dear Sandy, Thank you for your kind comments regarding your recent stay at The Newton Hotel. Glad you enjoyed your haggis and you were made to feel welcome during your time with us. Sadly one of our Highland cattle passed away recently, through old age, but the other two are still enjoying their time wandering around the field. Regards Alan... More
