Firstly I would like to say the photos trip advisor has of Farr Cottage is in fact NOT Farr Cottage at all! I've spoke to Kirsty and the staff about all the reviews on here and the majority of them the people didn't even stay at the hostel! Maybe instead of bad mouthing the hostel on a website that has... First of all id like to thank Kirsty and Cliff for once again making us all feel so welcome. I can not understand why some of the reviews are so negative. We arrived as a group through the night which was not a problem at all. Out rooms were fantastic, clean and warm as tge weather was awful. The bar,... More

Well, we wanted a budget place for 10 lads (40 something's) to crash while we enjoyed the tracks of fortwilliam. Our room was approximately 25 m2. With 5 bunks. Well after lots of beer men fart and snore when they sleep. They also perspire ! The walls were wet. The place was ok. The staff were very accommodating until a... More

Helpful staff, lots of car park space, free wifi, self service free coffee, tea, nescafe in the kitchen, good sleep quality. Not complaining. :) Btw, no towel provided, but there are towel for rent for £1 for your entire stay period.

First of all the opening hour (we had to call to make the check in, because there was not anybody in). The room was not so clean, in fact we stayed all the night with an allergy (due to the dust for sure)... I have visited al lot of hostel, with more people hosted, and they were not so bad... More

The hostel is clean and comfortable. Rooms are quite small and few of them has a small bathroom ensuite. Kitchen in fully equipped. There are even a common room with television and a bar with draft beers, light drinks and whiskys. The staff was really kind: they quikly replied to our mails before our arrival and were even available during... More

This was a fantastic hostel with everything we needed. There were 9 of us visiting for the Caledonian Challenge. The location in Corpach was perfect for us. We found Kirsty on reception to be very helpful and everything was there that we needed. The form for 8 people was perfect with en-suite shower, and the double room was more than... More

I would certainly recommend Farr Cottage Lodge. If you demand subservient maids and dull waiters to provide soulless duties 24/7, in a fully equipped but zero personality hotel, then Farr Cottage Lodge is not for you. As some of the reviewers no doubt discovered, this place is packed full of personality, and that includes the owners and staff! Contrary to... More

9 of us stayed here for one night a week ago. It's very basic. Rooms are small and cramped with few electrical sockets for charging items. One shower was broken which left 2 working and with a bit of juggling around we managed. The bedding was clean as was the hostel in general, fine for one night but certainly don't... More
