We came here in July, as I was born in Thurso and was making another nostalgic trip .
Having stayed here before I expected the same high standard.
The hotel has so much character and in an excellent position, but I was very disappointed in the room. In great need of a face lift. One chair actually fell back as...

I stayed here with colleagues this month and whilst I have no major compaints there were a few niggles. Booking in was easy and the staff were very friendly. My room (Number 2) was a bit on the small side even as a single and could have done with redecoration.
The meal at night was fine and pretty good value....

We stayed here one night in Oct.and found it quaint and charming. The street was a little noisy but interesting! The room was clean with a modern bathroom and breakfast was awesome. No elevator which was hard for some guests.

We arrived in Thurso early afternoon and checked with the information centre on the best hotels in Thurso. She showed us where the hotels were and checked with Trip advisor on the reviews on each one. The Pentland Hotel came up as being the better hotel, We went in and the receptionist was very friendly and promptly booked us in...

We returned to Thurso and as we had stayed here before there was no question of going anywhere else. Room fine, but looked a bit tired, A chair needed repair. I nearly went flying when I sat on it, so very wobbly.
The breakfasts were very good, and the staff could' nt have been more helpful, which I could not...

Room was of a good size and the bed was very comfy - however right next to a corridor door which was quite noisy every time it closed.
Smallest TV in the world up on a...

Really enjoyed a one night stay at this hotel, and it made me think how much better the experience can be in privately owned hotels rather than global chains. The staff were exceptionally friendly, the service excellent, and at £45 per night fantastic value! Best breakfast I've had in a long time, too. Okay the room could have done with...

The value of this hotel is outstanding, and it is very clean, however, the decor is quite tired. I was puzzled as to why the toilet roll holder within the bedroom bathrooms is like a toilet roll holder you would find in a public toilet?! Unfortunately there didn't appear to be a lift at this hotel. I'm currenly pregnant, and...

Like others who have posted reviews for this hotel, I had two nights stay on business. I would agree that the decor is somewhat dated but I would also say I found the place clean and the staff whether at reception or in the dining area were friendly and helpful. Despite the fact that the hotel was full (mainly with...
