As most other people have said, this is an acceptably quirky place in an area of Scotland with a derth of good hotels. John & Myra certainly make this hotel a joy to visit. We had a room in the annexe, which as has been previously mentioned was very damp. The grout in the bathroom tiles was black with damp and the room was very cold with a musty smell. The host was extremely nice and gentle, the room was very spacious and finally I found very dark and heavy curtains that allowed me to sleep very well also in the morning! We chose this hotel because it was only 15 minutes by car from the ferry to go to the Orkney, so great location as well! More
