The Old Ministers House can be equated to returning to a friend’s country home…Kate is an excellent host..can help you with advice re restaurants or activities to do….the rooms are par excellence- since last we have been Kate has been re-decorating and the... more

Had a fantastic 2 night stay. Room was great with lots of nice touches. Great breakfast - the full works! Fantastic old house beautifully done. Location good -towards the base of the hill yet easy walk into town for tea, but check out the wee restaurant next door too. Bike shop across the road and lots of trails around to... more

This is one of the best B&B’s we’ve ever stayed at! The room and en suite bathroom were so charming and VERY clean. The full English breakfast was to die for: most of the ingredients were organic and the bread was freshly baked. The marmelade made by Kate (the landlady) was gorgeous and the fresh fruit from the buffet was... more

This is one of the best BandB's I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. From our arrival, when we were offered tea and cake, to our departure everything was right about the place. The rooms are spacious, warm and comfortable, with large en-suite bathrooms. Plenty of large thick towels and shampoos etc. A small carafe of sherry is... more

After trawling the internet for days looking for somewhere cosy, relaxing and luxurious to stay we decided on this place for a few days 'chlling time'. What a great choice we made!! I totally agree with other reviewers comment that this is what all B&B's should be like. The four large rooms are all very similar in design and decor.... more

We had an outstanding stay at the Old Minister's House. If there is such a thing as a luxury B&B this is it. The rooms were spacious and airy. The bathroom was also quite large and all the furniture/decorations looked new. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding. Kate, the owner, was very helpful during our entire stay and even... more

Stayed here as part of a fly-fishing trip, it's a beautiful conversion, huge rooms, really nicely decorated. The sherry is a lovely welcoming touch. Breakfasts very fresh and a good selection. We're not B&B people in general, but The old Minister's is what all B&B's ought to be like. more

Excellent stay in comfortable, nice surroundings. The house and the bathrooms are immaculately clean and lashings of hot water and fluffy towels. All rooms are very spacious and very comfortable and really appreciated the rain head shower and great hot water pressure. All rooms have a bathub and shower which is great for soaking. Welcomed on arrival with tea and... more

Just back from a lovely three night stay with Kate. Room lovely. Coffee and home made brownies on arrival. Fell asleep listening to river behind guest house. Kate's breakfasts are good with yummy homemade jam. Lots of good tips for eating out and the cake shop is well worth the drive along the narrow road. Sherry in room nice way... more

The Old Minister’s House is a wonderful place to stay. Kate and Ken Tod are fantastic hosts, providing a very warm welcome which makes you feel very much at home. The homely touches made our stay memorable, home baked fruit cake and tea on arrival, delicious sherry in the bedroom to sip before going out for dinner, and breakfast with... more
