On arriving, reception was in darkness... with a note saying to present yourself at the bar if reception is unmanned (when we arrived there was a football match on and the bar was packed with numerous drunk people). Had to pay upfront which was a bit unusual then were informed that it was karaoke night and when we made a... More

The major plus is Phil, the manager. Really couldn't be more freindly and helpful, as were the staff. If you don't want your room cleaned the chamber maid wil absolutely insist you take fresh towels. Pub is a very local place and although far from being a lovely country/resort type pub it is none the less friendly. Great location, rooms... More

Just spent 3 nights here on a stag trip. Rooms are basic but have everything you could need and are very clean. Food in the bar was again basic pub grub but well priced and served all day long. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay for a stag or hen weekend. The owner Phil made us... More

A great wee hotel in aviemore, great prices fantastic staff, grumpy management. THe hotel is well located for aviemore centre, shops, restaurants, railway station, bus station, and the steam railway. I was glad to here that the hotel has new management, and has been refurbaced, so i will be back, although my stay with the last management was fine, well... More

Again, this place was busy- we came here a number of times as it offerred free WiFi, and the kids could get on their laptops etc! (limited in aviemore). Friendly staff as usual, but meals i thought were a little bland, and the sunday Roasts (all be it on New Years day), were not great! This was probably due to... More

A friendly welcome on arrival by the Manager and personally shown to our accommodation. Recently taken over by new management and the accommodation is being refurbished to a good standard. Accommodation is compact but more than adequately meets your needs. TV and tea/coffee making facilities. En Suite shower would not be suitable for the 'larger' person. An average Scottish breakfast... More

Warm room, help drying our kit, good shower and a decent bed. Staff were friendly and helpful on a vary wet and dull day. Good value for money and a great breakfast. More

Initial impressions were not that great. Room was quite small, with outdated decor, and the bar down stair had a darts tounament which had attracted some interesting looking characters. Concerns about the disco/karaoke which was to take place at nights due to rooms being upstair. Have to say most of the concerns were unfounded, all of the locals were more... More

Thank goodness it was only for one night. The room decor was awful, dirty carpets, handles missing from furniture. The ensuite was very dated and not too clean. The breakfast was not great my bacon was swimming in grease. You help yourself to cornflakes and when I picked up a plate it was dirty which really put me off. Can't... More

Room was okay, bathroom had mould on the ceiling, evening meal was from a very good menu and was first class apart from the waitress who put the meal on my table without saying a word and when I lifted my head to thank her she was halfway across the floor. It was decent enough value for the price but... More
