I don't have much to say, stayed there for a night and everything was ok. The room is basic but it was an ensuite double room and it was clean and comfy. Good noise isolation, could sleep well despite the reasonably central location.

Arrived and to start with the room seemed ok. On closer inspection the skirtings and sockets were thick with dirt. As for the shower it wasn'n fit to use. It was absolutely filthy. Breakfast was disappointing as it was Quorn sausage and Turkey rashers, you should really have the option.

I stayed here as i was working close by. The hotel does a good cooked breakfast but doesn't have a restaurant or a bar; not that these make much difference as the rooms were clean and comfortable and there are plenty of really good bars and restaurants just around the corner.

I stayed at the Newton hotel on a Thursday eve to visit the kings theatre, I am in my 70s with limited mobility and had no problems on my stay the room was directly behind reception and was perfectly comfortable and had everything I needed including power shower in a cubicle not over a bath and complimentary toiletries! My only slight niggles were the window was v heavy to close and as it was a warm eve I had to leave it open anyway and the noise from the street wasnt great BUT it is city centre and there was definitely no noise internally in the hotel. The breakfast was amazing and again slight niggle was that the breakfast room was in the basement so there was stairs which I found a little difficult however I managed ok. I will definitely use this hotel again!!

... but not so comfortable if you have to carry your luggage yourself to your room: climbing rather narrow stairs, from the receptions downstairs - through the dining hall - upstairs - and then you are in your room. The service at reception has been friendly and helpful. As well the one for the simple breakfast. The room has been small but OK. Just a little bit smelly at the beginning. The little hotel is centrally located - in walking distance from the main train stations.

Just back from an overnight stay at this hotel. For under £70, two adults with breakfast, was a bargain. Hotel was very clean, and staff were spit on. The only down side to this hotel, was we had a room at the front(room 16) overlooking the road with no netting on the window so had to keep the curtain closed. Also it was noisy when the club/pub a few doors down emptied. Apart from that, I would recommend and use this hotel again.

I managed to book this hotel the night before my stay and was pleasantly surprised at how good value it was considering it was a Friday night! £27 and including breakfast! Obviously I was thinking this was too good to be true and after reading some other reviews left by people I wasn't very hopeful about the quality of the room however it passed all expectations! The room was clean and tidy, nice bathroom with a decent shower, tea&coffee making facilities and a tv (a bit on the small side but did the job). Bed was super comfy aswell and there was hardly any noise from outside all night as my room was located at the back of the property. The location of the hotel is perfect for city centre access to all the attractions and if you are going out for food and drinks at night. An excellent stay and would not hesitate to book again in the future!

I booked a last minute stay at the Newton hotel as I work around the corner and decided to stay in town rather than travelling home after a Christmas Day out. I wasn’t sure what to expect to be honest as it was very cheap for a city centre hotel. I’m glad I took the chance. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was very clean and had tea and coffee facilities and a hairdryer and a lovely new bathroom with shower. The outer door had secure entry with a 24 manned reception. All in all I was very impressed and will definitely book again.

Booked a double room last minute for an overnight stay, wish I’d spent a few pounds more and gone elsewhere! Good points- Good location, easy walking distance from the shops and bars in the city centre Check in was quick and easy, chap was very friendly. Room clean, bed comfortable, good shower (although tiny cubicle) Breakfast is included free of charge and offers a good selection of both cooked and continental options Free WiFi although it wasn’t the fastest Bad points- Double room was tiny- bed was against wall limiting access View was onto a bit of neglected ground with rubbish strewn everywhere TV was faulty Noise is a huge problem- my room was on the ground floor, the noise from drunk guests in the entrance hall was ridiculous and was repeated. The noise of the stairs was disruptive. The bar which backed onto the ground outside our window regularly threw bins of empty bottles out To summarise, it sufficed as a one night stay but our lack of sleep due to the noise issues mean I wouldn’t return
