My husband and I stayed one night at this hotel in Glasgow. I'm a fairly light sleeper so always take ear-plugs whenever I stay at hotels. We happened to be staying on a weeknight and I was woken at 6am in the morning by the symphony of slamming doors - this went on until 7:30am when the frequency slowed down.... more

This hotel is not really located "minutes from Glasgow", as some online information suggests. It's a good 20 minutes bus ride from the city centre, and even the Byres Road is a longish walk away. The hotel is next to a dual carriageway and faces a petrol station on one side, and a large hospital on the other. The whole... more

I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at The Glasgow Pond Hotel. It's a shame that breakfast seems to have been a disappointment and I'm sorry for that. The team will concentrate on getting right the aspects of service that you've highlighted. The coffee machine at breakfast is designed by Tchibo and grinds coffee beans to provides...

Pros: cost, free parking, free wifi. Cons: bed, location, noise. Rate was 75 pounds per night w/o breakfast. Room was fine except for bed, the mattress was hard and thin. Hotel is located on a busy street and noisy convenience store, ask for a room that looks out the back. Hotel is about a mile from bars and restaurants near... more

I tried to check in fairly late on a Sunday evening to be told they didn't have me down as arriving until the Monday (my paperwork said Sunday). Luckily they had a room. The room was very hot and I was surprised there was no biscuits with the tea and coffee (I was ravenous from travelling). Made a reservation for... more

The room was modern and clean although it was extremely hot and we had to have the windows open which wasnt really good as the room was facing... more

A handy overnight stopping off spot on the way to the Highlands. Petrol station and M and S food outlet next door. Cross the road and walk along the footpath by Gartnavel Hospital for 15 minutes, pass the Homeopathy Hospital and you are at Hyndland station if you want to go into town. There was a wedding party going on... more

Stayed here for one night whilst in Glasgow for a training course and was very impressed with the place. Room was a decent size, modern and very clean, bathroom looked pretty much brand new and everything in the room worked as it should. Staff were extremely friendly, professional and helpful. Ate in the hotel restaurant for evening meal and breakfast... more

On approaching this hotel I was very worried about what lay ahead however on entering reception we were very pleasantly surprised, reception very nice and staff very polite and helpful. Plenty of parking and free wireless internet, the rooms are very clean, nicely presented and spacious enough, dinner in the bar was delicious and not over priced. The location is... more

Clean, quiet, comfortable hotel and a very nice, helpful staff. Excellent buffet breakfast. Good value. Pond with ducks is a lovely plus. A bit from the city center, but bus and train connections are excellent. Two train stations, Hyndland and Anniesland are within walking distance, then only a 10 minute train ride to the city center. With the train, there's... more
