We stayed at Hotel du Vin St. Andrews for three nights in late February. It’s a charming property located on a road overlooking the sea. The hotel has a cozy feel in the main areas. The main dining room and bar are very welcoming. We added the breakfast option to our reservation and the food was good. There’s both a breakfast bar for a variety of continental Items as well as a hot breakfast which one orders with the waitstaff. We had a Deluxe Double room which had a comfortable king side bed and plenty of room in which two people could easily move around. Though we don’t don’t request or need it, our late check-in meant that we were given an accessible room as non-accessible rooms were all occupied. My only complaint was that the sink was quite small and quite low but given that it was designed to be accessible, this did make sense. We especially enjoyed the location and the fact that it was an easy walk to the Old Course. We aren’t golfers but one can walk the old course on Sundays, something we enjoyed. The location is also an easy walk into the main commercial areas of St. Andrews. It is also very close to the main bus station from which one can easily get to places outside of St. Andrews like Dundee. We have already booked Hotel du Vin again for this coming December when we will back in St. Andrews. We are very much looking forward to our return visit.

Given an upgrade to a room on the 3rd. Floor. The room was clean, spacious and had good amenities. We appreciated the view from a corner, turret window which was of the golf course and the main beach. The room was comfortable and very quiet which helped to ensure a good sleep. We enjoyed dinner and the buffet breakfast had reasonable choices. The menu for a cooked breakfast had the usual choices.Service in the restaurant was excellent at all times.A special mention for Kelsey at reception who was friendly and very helpful.

I decided on this hotel in St. Andrew's just based off of Trip Advisor reviews. I like to stay at Kit Kemp hotels in NYC and London, which I also discovered on Trip Advisor. We were in town from the US visiting the university because my son is a prospective student. I am so pleased we decided to stay at Hotel Du Vin - it is in an excellent location to walk to everything. The interiors are INCREDIBLY fresh, new and clean - in fact they were painting some hallways during our stay into a gorgeous light blue green. The upholstery, including fabric headboards, is fresh and comfortable. Since I'm kind of a germaphobe, I'm particularly pleased when so much care goes into these things. The bathroom was spotless, fresh, and white. At night, I could hear the waves crashing just a few feet away. The employees were helpful and very friendly. We will definitely be back!

Lovely experience. Nice suite with amazing views of the West Sands. Hotel interior is of a high standard, as is the service of the reception staff. Food is of a very high standard. Breakfast was a great selection. Minor things were the pillows being far too soft and that we had to wait for a good while at breakfast as no staff were about. Would recommend and return!

Recently returned from a weekend trip, this is the hotel we always stay at in St Andrews due to the fact it is pet friendly but also a beautiful standard of hotel. Unfortunately this has changed. We have always booked a Deluxe Double room to have the additional space with the dog. When we checked in and headed to our room, the genuine first thought was we had been given the wrong room. However, after querying with reception I was in fact told we were in a recently ‘upgraded and refurbished’ room. The so called refurbishment can only be described as awful. This hotel has changed from a beautifully presented modern look with classy furnishing to what can only be described as a cheap mix and match Bed and Breakfast set up with room furniture that wouldn’t look out of place in a garden centre. Our particular room was also much much smaller than any we have stayed in before with the amenities provided with a Deluxe Double crammed in and even restricting access to one side of the bed! The website unfortunately still shows images of how all of the rooms used to be presented leaving you to discover this shock on arrival and check in. Unfortunately will now need to find another hotel in St Andrews which truly is a shame!
