My husband and I stayed at the Russell for 6 nights the end of August and totally enjoyed the experience. The staff of the Russell - Gordon and Fiona, Helen, Alex, Janice, Pam, Hazel, Julie, and Martha (forgive me if I've forgotten anyone) went out of their way to make our stay pleasant.
Our room was on the top floor;...

I stayed at the Russell in June with friends on a golf trip. The hotel is in a great location, less than 5 minutes walk to the Old Course. During our stay, Gordon and all his staff provided top-notch service. The meals in the restaurant were great, especially the breakfast. The bar was excellant, very friendly bartenders and a large...

We stayed here 5 nights in May, with another couple. The husbands golfed, the wives explored the town and surrounding countryside. The Russell is well situated to the Old Course and other courses. The weather left something to be desired, but we had little problems with the rooms or the service. The breakfast choices were excellent, and the wait staff...

Stayed here with 10 other golfers last weekend. Rooms are compact but comfortable with very nice bathrooms. Breakfast was really excellent and dinner looked good too although we had made other arrangements in advance.
Location is great with sea views to the front and you are only a 4 Iron from the Old Course.
However the best part of The...

Visiting St. Andrews University with our son. Hotel had been recommended to us. Lovely location on scones st overlooking the water and down the street, teh 18th hole on the old course. Beds were uncomfortable, room smelled of paint with the trim having been recently painted requiring us to leave the windows open all night, resulting in allot of noise...

Its not a hotel it's a Guest House because its basically a pub with rooms and a restaurant. The propieters focus I think is on the food, which is very good, though not as cheap as some make out. The Rushacks hotel restaurant is as cheap with views over the golf course, beach and not in a claustrophobic back room....

I had booked this hotel several months in advance and the price we agreed was quite a bit more than advertised. I agreed £85 per night for myself as there was no single room. When I arrived at the hotel, ditto to all the comments about reception in the bar, but I was glad to have been prepared! My room...

stayed at this hotel in early march, room 5 which has three large bay windows which allow an enormous amount of natural light. Enjoyed our stay with just a few niggles. we only ate at breakfast, which was efficient and friendly & offered a good selection. We did not eat in the evening & tried other restaurants. Avoid the glass...

We stayed at the Russell Hotel for the sixth time last weekend and enjoyed it just as much as previous stays. A warm welcome from all staff greeted us. Food was of a very high standard as usual. We look forward to see Gordon and staff again in two years' time. Perhaps a lick of paint here and there by...
