The Lairg is a great place to stay. We can only say the best things about it. The room we got was very large and bright. Since the windows opened into a garden at the back of the hotel it was very quiet, The bathroom was well equiped with a good shower and exstremly clean, as was the rest of... More

I was here about 10 days ago with my son. We came to see Pandas in the Edinburgh zoo, a few more attractions and were staying here in the hotel only one night. Before I go to negative side of our stay I will clearly state that the hotel itself has good side to it too. The place and location... More

The location of this hotel is good. The centre of Edinburgh is around a 10 min walk or there is a bus that leaves from just around the corner. Our room was big and comfy and everything was very clean. The staff do not speak a lot of English which can sometimes come across as a bit rude and abrupt... More

Lovely Georgian House, beautifully decorated. We had a room on the top floor which was comfortable, warm and clean, the breakfast was excellent with lots of cooked and cold choice. The staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble, our flight home was late in the evening and they looked after our bags for us. It is situated... More

Breakfasts were phenomenal: From porridge, to big Scottish breakfasts, to smoked salmon. Our room was comfy, large and felt like we were thrown back into an earlier time. Staff was helpful and friendly. Location was ideal. We could walk easily to city center. Nearby buses went everywhere we wanted to go.

I chose this hotel misled by the photos I saw of the rooms. When I got there, my room was extremely small, just like a shoebox! The shower , a small square where you can hardly move and the bed bumpy and very uncomfortable. I had seen beautiful pictures of the bedrooms there so I asked for a bigger one.... More

Do not think twice about booking this hotel, we were in room 28, large 4 poster bed, the room was bigger than my lounge/diner at home. The room was very clean as was bathroom, breakfast is well presented and cooked.Would recommend this hotel to anyone, it is a 10 min walk to all attractions. Will return to this hotel again.

We paid £94 for two nights excluding breakfast. We felt it would be best to decide when we were there if we wanted to have the breakfast. It would have cost us £7 each which we felt was slightly steep. There are plently of shops and bakeries nearby. It's easy enough to get too as well, there is an airlink... More

Having previously stayed at many hotels in Edinburgh (all being very different) I have come to expect quite a high standard of accommodation in the city and I can say that Lairg didn't disappoint. Myself and my partner had a number of interviews to attend and found that the Lairg was comfy, cosy and quite welcoming. The owner can seem... More

We have recently returned home after staying at the Lairg Hotel for 2 nts to attend the 6 Nations rugby match on 9th March. We were so impressed with the hotel. The location is perfect, only a few minutes walk from Haymarket Station, we had a very warm welcome from the manager and were then delighted with our room. It... More
