On early arrival we got a free upgrade from the four poster room to the apartment suite. The initial good experience continued throughout the stay - which was pretty much faultless.
The reception were extremely friendly, helpful while being laid back and welcoming.
The apartment suite itself is probably worth the extra in hindsight as you can come and go...

We were initially disappointed when we were told that the hotel did not accept dogs but were very pleasantly suprised to be offered the apartment in Brandon Street. The apartment is normally let for two nights but was kindly offered for our one night stay - they even changed the website so we could book on line. The apartment is...

It might have been freezing outside but it was very warm inside! Very friendly, family run hotel only a mile down the hill from George Street in the centre of Edinburgh. If you are looking for a central place, that is good value for money, clean and well-looked after I would recommend the Inverleith.
Free on-street parking on the weekend...

Having stayed here (quite happily) on several occasions, this visit was disappointing in a number of ways. The room was a good size; the bed very comfortable but...the bathroom was tiny - I mean tiny with no room to towel yourself properly and nowhere to put washbag or any of its contents. I stayed for two nights and on the...

Thank you for returning to us as a regular guest. From your comments I can see that you must have booked our small double room on this one occassion, as the standard doubles would not have been available. However this smaller budget double is priced accordingly. It seems a little strange that you say there was no where for toiletries...

We had booked four nights in this friendly hotel, in a four-poster room, away from the bustle of the city and upon arrival were greeted by the owner who informed us of the upgrade to their four-poster studio apartment with it's own private entrance. The service throughout our stay was outstanding but also discreet. We would gladly recommend this small...

We stayed for three nights centred round a wedding in the Botanical Gardens which was great as we could walk back after the evening do. Also fantastically situated for the very pretty Stockbridge area., A bracing walk into the center helped to burn off the calories in our beautifully cooked breakfast. The staff were delightful, friendly and highly competent. Our...

As soon as we walked in to the hotel we were greeted by the lovely Marta and heard the magic words "upgrade" we were blown away, not just by the room but the service that we received the two nights we stayed. Thomas looked after us during most of our stay and was very attentive. Our room overlooked the street...

We stayed for 3 nights in October 2011 in two rooms - a double and a twin. It's in one of the very typical Victorian sandstone terraces which cover the nicer parts of Edinburgh and as a converted house, the rooms aren't huge. But the views were fantastic (we could see the castle from our room) and the place has...
