I spent two nights in the Holiday Inn with my girlfriend for the Calcutta Cup match. The hotel was very busy the first night, which we had expected, whilst the second night was much quieter. We were under the impression there was free parking at the hotel but as it was so busy we had to park in the Zoo's... More

I booked a room for 1 night on business in Edinburgh 13/2/2012. Even booking 3 weeks in advance I managed to grab a deal, to which I will later regret !! I have stayed at this hotel for work many times before and have found the staff to be average, the rooms plesant enough and the food fine. This however... More

Stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights as i had an appointment nearby. Reception staff very efficient and we checked into our room at 13.00 which was good. The room and bathroom were clean and we had a great view over the city. The bed was comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was good although... More

Stayed at Holiday Inn Edinburgh Feb 2012. Excellent position if visitng zoo, right next door. Several buses stop outside taking you to city centre. Staff really helpful, breakfast was also really good, everything you could wish for - and served until 11 am at weekends. Highly recommended. More

I was accommodated here by an airline after being stranded at the airport - must have been one of the last ones, so ended up in a smoking room, which made the night a real nightmare (the smell of smoke really disturbing). This point aside, the hotel looks rather tired, it has definitely seen better days. The manager manning the... More

We've stayed here several times because we have competitions in Meadowbank just 15 mins along the road. The hotel is handy if you want to go to the zoo but we never do! The rooms are nice and clean, standard Holiday Inn rooms and furniture. Theres a small indoor pool which is quite deep and actually very good. Theres also... More

We stayed here for two nights for a short stay in edinburgh. The hotel was lovely and clean and we really enjoyed our time there. We had dinner the first night which was included in our stay, the food was average but pleasant. We had breakfast both days and it was lovely! Real homecooked breakfast dinner then all the continental... More

This holiday inn is literally right next door to the zoo - they actually share the same car park but if you are staying at the hotel you don't get charged - even better! The staff at reception were very friendly and welcoming - although on the Sunday that we were there all the water was turned off as they... More

Arrived on Saturday for one overnight stay and was given a 'kingsize' room as requested. This consisted of two single beds fastened together with a lump right down the middle. The bed was extremely hard and the pillow had no support whatsoever - there wasn't much difference between the 'hard' and 'soft' options. The room was fairly comfortable - had... More

Nice clean hotel conveniently located on bus route to city centre. Staff pleasant and helpful. Car park a bit congested, may have to use zoo car park at £10, which is refunded by the hotel, but means queuing at peak times. Food is satisfactory but a bit pricey, with limited choice, and the drink is expensive. However, would use again... More
