Liz was really friendly and so sweet!!! She was a really big help with directions and ideas for day trips and places to eat. Her breakfasts were very scrumptious and definitely hit the spot!!! The B&B itself was gorgeous!!! Liz made us feel comfortable and helped us to enjoy our holliday!!! Thanks Liz!!! She mentioned that she was going to... More

Had a little trouble finding the phone number but I was glad I did! Phone: 0131/667-4428 Liz was great but is retiring in October so get there quick! The rooms were spacious with sink in each room. There are 3 bathrooms and only 6 rooms so plenty to go all around. Breakfast was amazing and we were full till lunch.... More

I got this B and B out of Rick Steves book as well. It is outside the city proper but a very easy walk from the bus stop and on a main road (Dalkeith Rd). (Call them first. They give excellant directions!) Some people might not go for the home decour but it a how you would imagine a grand... More

This was our 1st time in Edinburg - We found this score in one of Rick Steves books. A lovely stroll to the castle. The service was great not to mention the breakfast prepared by Liz. Charming, friendly, clean, very informative what a great deal and I would definitely reccomend this to anyone going to Edingburg. More

My huband and I stayed here on our first trip to Europe and absolutely loved this house. Mrs Broomfield was our Scottish grandmother away from home. We loved it so much that we returned for Hogmananay in Dec 03. Lovely rooms, incredible breakfast, and entertaining conversation with the hostess. She packed us a breakfast for our early morning train to... More

What a wonderful place to stay! I heard about this place from a coworker of mine who had stayed there years ago. It was so charming! The owner is a lovely woman - so helpful and kind. She had given us directions on how to get to the B&B from the train station by taking the bus. The bus stop... More

This is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are large and beautifully decorated. Breakfast is exceptionally delicious (Liz makes wonderful fruit scones). We had to leave early one morning to cath a train and Liz made us a sack breakfast to take on the train. I will definitely stay here next time I come to Edinburgh. More

I have just returned from my 4th stay at Millfield Guest House. If you have an opportunity, book a visit before Liz retires. It is like having a favorite relative in Scotland. More

This B&B is charming, convenient, and quiet, but Liz Broomfield, the friendly owner, will probably retire in early 2005. Even at the height of the 2004 Edinburgh festival the rates remained reasonable in price (42 BP double, with bath down the hall and a huge breakfast). Second floor rooms are larger than third floor rooms. The bus stop is 2... More

I have stayed here twice now with family, and hope to stay here again next time I chance to be in Edinburgh. The rooms (I've been in two, with other family in a third) are decorated in a rich, warm, charming variety of colors (i.e. the lavendar room has sweet lavendar florals etc.). The breakfast was substantial, the location quiet... More
