We stayed here for 1 night, our bedroom was clean and spacious. The location is good, it's only 15-20 minutes walk to city center and there are many good restaurants and other shops nearby. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The bus schedule will be given and the bus stop is right across this place. Breakfast was good although it... More

Six Mary's was perfect! Jonathan was friendly and helped us plan our time in Scotland. We stayed 4 nights twin ensuite and decided to stay 3 more nights and do day trips from Edinbourgh. Luckily, Six Mary's could accommodate us with twin w/ private facilities for the extra nights.. There was a sink in the room so walking a few... More

Location versus price - v. good (15 mins walk to city centre) Rooms - v. good (light, airy, clean) Complimentary extras- excellent (including plasters for after all the walking) Staff - helpful (volunteered to order taxi - carbon neutral) Environmental and social policies - admirable** ** However, this is what leads to slow/erratic service at breakfast, so allow at least... I add my voice to others that say this is a special place with lots of nice extras, esp if you are interested in supporting green travel, are vegetarian. Lovely breakfast room and responsive staff, internet availability are pluses, as is the neighborhood with a pleasant walk to the main of the cultural attractions, It is a bit bigger than... More

This clean and well appointed little guest house coped admirably with the onslaught of 12 Welshmen in town for the rugby! A late request for an additional bed was accommodated, and as put up beds go very comfortable. Breakfast was well cooked if understandably a little disorganised when everyone arrives at once. If you need a place to stay slightly... More

This is a great guest house/B&B, well run, good rooms, good breakfast. The location is north of New Town, so it's a fair way from the tourist attractions of Edinburgh, and there is no parking available. We had to park at a public car park about 20 minutes walk away. More

I was looking for a small, comfortable hotel convenient to the center city but at a little distance from the melee that is the Edinburgh Festivals in late August. I couldn't have been happier with Six Mary's Place. The building itself is a lovely old residence set back from the street; my room seemed to have been recently redecorated and... More

I wanted to stay in a vegetarian-friendly place with a bit of character that was within walking distance of Edinburgh city centre. Six Mary's Place is all this and much more besides. Booking was easy, the welcome was friendly and breakfast was delicious. Stockbridge has its own shops and amenities and lots of restaurants and pubs to keep you fed... More
