We stayed for a short break in this hotel and could not fault it. The room was spotlessly clean and well furnished, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast was the best British breakfast anyone could ask for. It was about a 15 mins walk to the City Centre (and young legs could probably do it even... more

The rooms are clean and adequate, breakfast buffet is good and plentiful, staff friendly and efficient, location fairly convenient. My 2 complaints: the staff wasn't knowledgeable about local events, but a much bigger issue was the noise from the street on the weekend nights--the closed window did nothing to block out the racket from the traffic and pedestrians talking and... more

Stayed for two nights.Clean, easy to find,5 mins from the Usher Hall (where I was going) and about 15 mins from Princes Street (walking,do NOT take your car to Edinburgh..you have been warned!).Room was small but everything was there and was nicely heated on a very cold weekend.Breakfast plentiful and while nothing special was perfectly OK.As long as you remember that... more

It's a reasonable two star hotel. Cheap, clean, decent breakfast. The shower is the smallest space I have ever fitted into and the wifi is a total rip off at £12 per 24 hours, but those are the only complaints I have. more

I stayed here about 7 years ago and decided to stay there again this time. It is a bit from the centre but is easily walked from Waverly if you dont have a problem walking. For me, I liked the location, it is only 15mins walk to the castle and to Grassmarket and about 20 mins from Princes St. There... more

I stayed for 2 night in early October. The hotel is located far from Central rail station and coach station. You need to take bus. Don't try to walk to hotel with luggage. It took me 40 minutes to climb up the hill to reach there. In fact, the hotel is near Haymarket railway station, just 5 minutes walk. You... more

Bus fair is 1.20.The room was very very dated, furniture didnt match, the bathroom was absolutley tiny.It was supposed to be en-suite.A sink in the bedroom?? The bar is just a room with... more

We stayed in a triple room for 3 nights in May. The hotel was clean and comfortable but don't be expecting a lot of extra facilities. However, when you're in Edinburgh there's plenty to see and do so we were only looking for a bed to sleep. Breakfast was good with plenty of food, and regularly topped up. It only... more
