The location of this hotel is great, except at the moment there are building works right outside for the new tram lines being put in Princes Street. I stayed two nights at The Waverely after doing extensive research on line. I was flying in from Belfast (where I flew in from the US) and was traveling alone. Took a taxi to the hotel - was surprised at the tiny entrance and stairs to get to Reception. Got an actual KEY to my room (who still does this??).... more

Good location but extensive roadworks outside that will go on for a long time as they are putting in tram lines. Hotel was shabby, staff inconsistent, beds extremely uncomfortable. the hotel was clean, lovely views, across the road from the train station, central to the shops and bars. Lots of stairs up to reception but porter will come down and asst with luggage. more
