We were made to feel so welcome, our room wasn't a room, it was a suite! Comfy beds, lovely sitting area, flatscreen tv, ensuite bathroom. All spotless. Excellent off road parking which is great for Edinburgh. Breakfast was delish and a vast spread of cereals, beautiful home made fresh fruit salad, could have happily not gone home. Will stay there... I was recently in Scotland for a much needed vacation. I initially stayed at the Lodge for 4 nights (in fact I was there at the same time as Vicki Yorks -hi, Vicki!) and returned there for two additional nights at the end of my trip. During the course of my travels I stayed at B&Bs in Oban, Portree, Kirkwall,... More

Stayed for a 4 night break during the festival. An exceptional B+B, well positioned in a lovely area but not too far from the centre. Liz and Norrie are a lovely couple aided by Nellie the dog. They are welcoming and helpful providing a home from home. The twin room was large with a seating area very comfortable beds and... More

Owners, accommodation, decor, comfort, breakfasts, quiet yet accessible location- all really excellent and as good as the best B&B I have ever stayed in. We enjoyed the 15 minute walk in and out of Edinburgh city centre but could have easily taken the bus. More

'Bella, bella, bella' was the review I found for this B&B when I was trying to find accomodation for the Edinburgh fringe last year and I couldn't put it better myself. From the moment I contacted Liz by email I found her friendly and efficient. As soon as I arrived I felt welcome and when I returned this year I... More

My husband and I are just back from a two-week trip to Scotland and The Lodge was probably the best B&B we experienced. The room was not just a room but almost an apartment, very well furnished and absolutely comfortable, with all kind of facilities for guests. Breakfast was to die for!!! Liz and Norman are lovely and extremely friendly,... More

On our arrival we were warmly greeted by Liz and Norrie and shown our accommodation. The twin room we had booked turned out to be a suite, every tiny detail was catered for from the usual tea and coffee, towels and tv to dressing gowns, hairdryer (with extension lead), a large array of toiletries and a vast range of reading... I am a tourist guide and tour agent. I travel throughout Scotland and The Lodge at Ravelston is the most excellent bed and breakfast accommodation I have found in Edinburgh, dare I say Scotland. A very warm welcome from Liz and Norman and dear Nelly, superb decor, comfortable beds and the most delicious breakfast in a lovely dining room surrounded by... More

I was in Edinburgh on a course for a week and had only travelled from the West coast, but couldn't have found anywhere better to stay. Room was a great size, very comfortable, with everything in it that I could have needed had I forgotten anything, toiletries, hair dryer etc. Good seating area in the room to sit and have... More
