I was mildly disappointed with this hotel as despite the excellent location the standards were not what I expected. The directions to find the hotel were not up to date, however the amount of work on the new tram lines in Edinburgh are sufficient to make this excusable. There was no parking facility and the 'arrangement' with the nearby car... More

I stayed in a castle view room at The Point on May 12. The hotel staff were very adamant about the check-in time--I had just arrived on an overnight flight from the US. I left my bags to go out for 2 hrs til I could check-in. Had a bite of early dinner and then slept for 12 hours. Be... More

A good hotel with great views of the castle but in need of a bit of work to get rid of the damp patches in the bedroom and improve the bathroom - especially the shower. More

I have stayed here on a few occasions and will be back again. Ok, the rooms are past thier best before dates but this is reflected in the price, and may be the website pics show it a bit flashier than reality. That said it is great value, the service is exceptional, I've always been impressed by the staff -... More

In four weeks traveling in the UK staying at The Point in Edinburgh was the worst of all of our tourism experiences. Reception was good - great, I thought, this should be good. Then we got to our room. Room 425. Wow - a low point in expectation versus delivery anywhere in our world travels. We have basic expectations -... More

To say that I am disappointed to read your review would be an understatement as there seemed to be a lack of basic care taken in both you room and information regarding a function that was held in the hotel during your stay. I am sorry that you felt the Front Office Manager Olivier did not deal with your complaint... More

We don't normally write reviews but we do rely on what others have written. We're writing this one because of the exceptional freindliness and genuine care offered by the hotel's staff, matched by the enjoyment of the brilliant view from the spacious and well appointed room which had the largest on suite bathroom ever - which just added to the... Stayed there about a week ago and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful though there were some down sides. I had a pre theatre dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious, but if you were hungry you’d probably not find the portion size adequate. For me it was fine. One or two little hiccups though ...... More
