Stayed in this gem in Scotlands crown in Aug 06 for the first time and have returned every year since. The hotel is first class for the price, food is plain but exellent, staff friendly and helpful, the bar is a friendly and inviting and the owners go out of there way to accomadate What more can i say more

A very friendly welcome was received from the owner. The room was warm and had everything required including a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent and served with cheerfulness. Altogether an experience well worth repeating. more

Good value for money, room nice and clean, if a little compact! Good food, nothing fancy but decent portions and very nice. Recommended. more

Stayed here a couple of years ago. Was in Moffat for a wedding and stumbled across this little gem. Really welcoming and friendly staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms and a nice breakfast in the morning. Moffat itself was a lovely little place. Didn't really have much time to explore but some quaint little shops and friendly locals. Would return... more

Stayed an overnight in this lovely hotel, staff and food were first class, hotel was very comfortable and very central for everything in Moffat. The proprietors where very friendly made you feel as if you had been going to the hotel for years, taking time out to talk to you.One word of warning if your party is only two stay... more

We had never been to Scotland and chose the Star Hotel because it has the distinction of being the narrowest free standing hotel in the world.
