Spent one night here for my girlfriends birthday as a surprise for her, she loved it! We stayed in the tipi. It rained all night but was nice lying in tipi listening to he rain. Good value for money and Pam and Mike were very friendly, because of the rain we couldn't make a fire but was still great. Sounds... More

This was my first experience of 'glamping'! I must say, I do not often use trip advisor, but I did want to tell everyone what an amazing place this is! We stayed in the bunkhouse, which had en-suite toilets and shower, and was very clean, and also had use of the communal lounge and kitchen area, which had all the... More

I've just spent my birthday weekend with 14 friends in the roundhouse at Marthrown and, despite never having written a review onTrip Advisor before, I felt compelled to tell other people how amazing this place is! We had an absolutely fantastic time. We made good use of the hot tub and sauna at night, and the beautiful walks and bike... More

This a brilliant location for mountain biking and generally relaxing, but we expected more from the price and from the picture painted by the website. Our bunkbarn was reasonably equipped with 8 beds, 2 showers, one private loo and another next door. It also had it's own lounge area and a nice veranda with wood burning stove. Sounds great, but everything... More

Many thanks to Mike and Pam for accommodating us (West Drayton Mountain Bike Club) in Upper and Lower Nith Bunkhouses. We had such a great time and loved the set up you have there (especially the Hot Tub/Sauna and covered BBQ) which we all made good use of. Everything is very much thought out and well equipped for our group... More

We stayed here during a rainy weekend in August, and have got to say it was brilliant, despite the rain ! Myself, partner, sister her partner, decided to camp in the forest. Mike showed us around and explained everything from the composting toilets, to the outdoor showers and the hot tub and sauna. The campsite was excellent, lots to do... More

I stayed here with a group of friends in the bunkhouse and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The owners are friendly and leave you to get on with enjoying your stay. The whole place has a secluded feel, despite being close to Dumfries. More

The hosts are very friendly, My family and I stayed in the tipi, which was fun , next to the roundhouse, we were a bit cold through the night. We had a wood burning fire, but didnt use it. I liked the tipi itself, the bbq, the fire area, the playground, the mud, and the people and home made from... More

What to say that could really do it justice? I visited with my wife, friends and children. There were 5 adults and 5 children (aged from 8 to 13). Every single one of us thought this was perhaps the most relaxed and content we have ever been. Camping in the heart of the beautiful forest gave us all the opportunity... More

If your a keen mountain biker and intend to ride trail centres such as Kirroughtree, Dalbeatie, and Ae Marthrown is a brilliant base. The place is run by good people who make you feel welcome without being a hinderance to your daily activities. Kitchen facilities have been recently improved and Pam and Mike continue to provide a pleasant environment for... More
