Very friendly and helpful but water supply was erratic, though room clean. Breakfast was a disaster area however. Poorly cooked and tasteless. Not worth the £30 a night charge, sorry. Lots of noise from street outside and no bedside light at one end of the room. More

Stopped at Hizzys with 3 others after a long day touring on the motorbikes in the lashing rain. The welcome from Frankie and Amanda was first rate, with cups of tea and coffee offered straight away to warm us up. While Frankie covered up the bikes with raincovers which he miraculously produce from the shed, Amanda stowed all the wet... More

We arrived very tired having ridden our motorbikes on sideroads from Ullapool. Frankie soon had us sorted out. Advised best Pubs and Restaurants and after a great nights sleep, cooked the biggest best quality Scottish breakfast you could wish. If you're a biker it's extra value as it's named after Steve Hislop, and has a biking theme. A genuinely nice... More

We stayed at Hizzy's guest house with two other couples. The rooms at the moment are not en-suite (they had materials on site to start converting all the rooms once the bank holiday weekend was over). To over come this, they gave each couple their own floor, so they did,t have to share a bathroom. This was ok till the... More

As part of the Borders Abbeys Way, a group of friends chose to stay at this very comfortable B&B. Despite it being a miserable, wet day (typical British summer), we were delighted to stay at this very spacious accommodation run by a friendly family. Hizzy's is dedicated to the memory of a local motor biker, Steve Hislop (see web-site). There... More
