Once again had a wonderful few days at the Roseneath , this time over new year. We have been staying here at least once a year for the past 4/5 years. Sarah & Robert make you so welcome, rooms are delightful , beds are spotless , comfortable & cosy. Breakfast excellent, pancakes fantastic if you can fit them in !!... more

Really enjoyed this cosy, friendly B&B. Very central. Cosy room overlooking the town, with a great sea view. Breakfast (and especially those blueberry pancakes) "sealed the deal". more

Some reviewers seem incapable of reading a map or understanding that towns built on hills, over a period, will inevitably NOT have a regular street pattern. Very easy to find, great welcome (and thanks for the advice about wireless connection) and great views. The house is Victorian, I guess, and the rooms that we had were clean and as shown... more

We quite enjoyed our stay at this little B&B in Oban, Scotland. The location is very central, though since the city is set on a hillside, be prepared for some stairs/uphill walking. Not all cars will fit down some of the narrow streets, too. We had room 7 and found the bed to be one of the most comfortable we... more

The Roseneath is in an excellent location halfway up the hill between the harbor and McCaig's Tower. Not the easiest place to get by car, but a bit easier on foot. If walking up and down hills (or stairs) is anathema to you, however, I'd recommend against it. This was a fairly disappointing experience, I hate to say. The room... more

We chose the Roseneath House based upon the previous reviews. Maybe our expectations are different than the other reviewers, but we found this guest house to be sorely lacking. The rug in our room desperately needed a good vacuuming. This created an uncomfortable feeling of the whole room being dirty. The upholstery was also stained. The feeling was not helped... more

We stayed at Roseneath based on the strength of the reviews on TripAdvisor. We were a little disappointed when we got there. It was fine, but nothing special. The room was a bit old, could have been a little cleaner and maybe a bit more updated. Again, this was by no means the worst place we've stayed at but I... more

My husband and I traveled to Scotland in September of 2008 for vacation. Our second stop was in Oban. Our hostess Sarah was charming: very Scottish and talked a mile a minute. When she showed us our room (Number 3) I nearly cried - it was so lovely and clean. The room was decorated in tasteful cream and dusty blue... more
