I like: 1. Good price with breakfast and free tea, coffee 2. Clean rooms (we have 6 ppl travel together and arranged a whole room) I dont really like: 1. unfriendly staff (I saw many comments here said the staff's very helpful... But the one I met was totally not) 2. a bit faraway from train station (15-20minutes walk) More

The staff are what made the place so amazing. So friendly, helpful, full of jokes and smiles. Made me feel right at home. Ready-made beds were well-appreciated, too. Plus, they stock vegemite at breakfast. Thoughtful! More

We had an en-suite room at this hostel. It was actually quite nice. Much better than similar offers around Scotland. So this was definitely above average. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. They even helped us with pre-bookings for Isle of Skye lodging. The room itself was very cosy. Had nice facilities and good beds. We had a really... I stayed here for one night, but it was very nice! The staff was friendly, the other guests were friendly, Oban was friendly - it was great! The beds are huge and my room had a large sunny window. The only problem was that the bathrooms are at the bottom of the stairs, showers are mid-way up the stairs, and... More

The 'dream hostel experience' started on booking. Simple, on-line booking and very clearly stated receipt outlining the date of booking and the services on offer. This hostel includes bedding, towels, breakfast and hot drinks! Easy to find (signposts on the main street) once in Oban and reception very friendly. We booked a private room and it was very clean and... More

We stayed at the Oban Backpackers Plus for two nights last week, and were pleasantly suprised at the standards at this economy hostel. The place was clean and the staff were very welcoming and courteous. The room was spacious enough, and at £45 per night for two people, was excellent value. Good heating, first class showers, generous free breakfast, coffee,... More

We had originally booked elsewhere, but after they were so helpful with tour advice in the area, we decided to move in! The best choice we ever made, really - the rooms are cozy without feeling small, the showers are great, prices are well affordable. Amenities like coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, are all free in the clean and well... More

We pulled into town without a reservation and on a budget. We received a very friendly and gracious greeting, and booked a double room with shared facilities across the street from the main hostel building. The room was very large and clean with a pretty view of the water. Oban Backpackers was a great value, very friendly, and I would... More
