We went for a week end break with Shearings coaches the hotel was fully booked because some of the rooms and the restaurant were being refurbished so we had to pay for an upgrade for a sea view room. The views were magnificent and well worth the extra. The food, service and room were all good The bar was a... More

Booked a long weekend in April on arrival was asked if I'd booked and payed for parking at the hotel, even with spaces available I still had to pay £5.00 a night, booked a sea view which added another £27.00 a night just kept adding to the holiday. Can't say the evening meals were anything to write home about mostly cold to warm... The manager was extremely helpful even organising tea and toast for us at 4am due to our business trip, rooms were nice and clean with tea/coffee, brilliant shower and comfortable bed. It has great views overlooking the harbour. Short walking distance to Oban centre, plenty of parking. Thanks for a calm and relaxing stay. Jill & Elgan

... but only if they remember. It was a shortish walk to the public car park for us instead. OK it turned out cheaper but with a heavy downpour in progress on arrival, it wasn’t much fun. The entrance certainly looks grand, but beware the steps are a little slippery when wet. The hotel is not far from the town... More

We had a great long weekend in this Hotel. While its not the Ritz, I did not pay the Ritz prices. It is in a great location, the views are fantastic with good food and value for money prices. Having only booked B&B we seen the menu in the hall which looked pretty good, so we asked how the price... More

We booked a 5 day holiday with National Holidays from 29 April 2013. We had a wonderful time at this hotel and the food was excellent. We upgraded to a sea view room and the views were stunning. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Our waitress was just lovely and so obliging. The Manager, Darren, was great... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in March with Shearings Coach holidays, we had a small attic room with ensuite facilities. Food was very good, nightly entertainment, excursions out, very warm in the lounges of an evening, hotel is a bit dated and floorboards very creaky, waitresses and waiters from Russia. Would stay here again.

Booked a Sheerings self drive for four nights in a superior sea view room - very reasonably priced and not a lot wrong with it for the money. The room was spacious with a superb view over the harbour and warm - when the electric heater had had time to thaw it out. The bathroom had been refurbished and was... More

we would not go anywhere else in Oban but the Great Western. A friendly welcome from staff who remember you from the last visit. Good food served by friendly and efficient staff. Rooms cleaned daily and clean towels if needed. AND it will be even better next time as I hear some rooms and the dining room are getting a... More
